The person I talked with originally did not explain the difference between assisted living and independent living. I explained my situation and she recommended Superior. I only stayed there three months. I was paying for services I did not use. The food and the Chef were terrible. I did not like the activities director at all. He came in the dining room and told dirty jokes which was an insult to me. I was really unhappy there. The apartment I was in had no ceiling fans no way to get fresh air into the space. The windows did not open and I had no balcony. There was no outdoor space and the people went out the front entrance in their walkers and wheel chairs blocking the entrance and it was hard to get through them. It even made the cars have to stop and give them time to move out of the way. I guess you can see why I was unhappy there. It was hard to move again. It cost me to have to move again. I don't know why the person I talked to sent me to Superior. The first thing any representative should do is listen and recommend the right category to the people calling in. Also I told her how old I was and the residents were much older and more limited than I was. No opportunity to make friends.

Everybody that I saw was very nice. They had a lot of social activities for their residents, like outside gardening.

I was very impressed with Superior Residences of Panama City Beach. They showed me a menu and it was nice. They have two choices of entrees each day of the week, and they have alternate choices, too. My husband is now in Superior Residences of Panama City Beach. I have no problems with the staff. They have been really nice and helpful. The only thing he needed is an appointment with the neurologist, and that hasn't been done yet. His room there is nice, but they had taken the door off of the bathroom because the person that was in there got mixed up or hung up about it. He seems to like the room pretty well. It's just that the bathroom needs the door. We got a television for him there. The food is very good. They can eat whenever they want to. They have a certain time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If they want something in-between, they can eat. The atmosphere of the place is very good. They are just very cordial and helpful. My husband has a problem, but they are trying to work with him as best as they can, so that's very good. One thing that I am concerned about is the activities. They haven't been out of the area. They are comfortable to stay together and watch TV. My husband participated in singing, and I really liked that. They have the therapists that come in to give them some exercise.
