This used to be a great place with resident centered care. Unfortunately, this changed at the start of COVID due to prioritizing the needs of an otherwise absent regional team over the dedicated staff risking their lives at the height of the pandemic. We lost several residents likely due to gross negligence during that period. From the denial of Covid''s existence, to blatant disregard for precautions, the team failed our staff and residents. During that time in 2020 there were little to no Covid precautions, as our head nurse Deepa (who wase promoted recently), never implemented these changes, but rather she would gloat about not using PPE when entering a Covid positive resident''s room . When Casey Edmondston Sr. ED, took over the building, she brought Keelan Mccurdy, Director of Operations, into the building to walk through and note the total disregard for Covid Precautions. Casey reprimanded the coordinator staff. I reported to Casey that we never received the Covid Precautions from Sunrise because Deepa/her boss never gave them to us. Casey told other coordinators what I told her confidentially, and thus, created a hostile work environment. This is a fact. She shared confidential information and turned everyone against me. I know this because the Reminiscence Coordinator came to me shortly after where she repeated my words. Casey formed a close bond with Deepa and was extremely unprofessional. The regional staff Keelan and Victoria (HR Director) are extremely unprofessional. They preach about not creating Silos and taking a team centered approach, meanwhile no one holds the regional team accountable. I reported an incident where a resident was abused. Victoria told me that it was more important to her to protect her friend Keelan than anything. I assisted the investigation by being fully honest and providing whatever evidence I had. I thought nothing of it. Later, my executive director told me that he was told that I could not be trusted and that he shouldn''t promote me. The ONLY incident I ever had was reporting the resident abuse which got a lot of people in trouble including the Director of Operations apparently. Later, it was apparent that Casey was carrying out a plan of the regional team to get rid of me for that incident systematically despite having 0 write ups in 5 years, near perfect attendance, having the love of family members, staff, and residents (some of which reach out to me still). I personally got agency out of the building. I personally stayed days and nights to make sure the staff were supported and residents were taken care of during Covid. When I attempted to return, as I was told I would be able to if my position came back, someone in regional told the ED not to hire me and disparaged my name. If you need to confirm any of this, you need only ask around. Lots of the staff have been there for a long time and are aware of everything I have put here. I put my heart and soul into my job. I loved working there. I conducted myself with integrity and conviction. It is unfortunate that people whom were only present in the building for a short period of time caused so much damage.
