This Is What Makes Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls Special
Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls was recently nominated for the prestigious SOAR Aging Environment Excellence Award. So what makes this community such a great place to live, according to residents and their family members? Ask them, and they’ll tell you it’s a little bit of everything — the tasty meals, the comfy atmosphere, the warm welcome they receive and the wealth of activities they enjoy. Most of all, though, they’ll say it’s the caring staff members who go above and beyond to ensure loved ones are treated with respect, love and dignity. These compassionate team members are on-site 24/7 to take care of emergencies, lend a hand with medications and assist with activities of daily living (showering, grooming, dressing, mobility and more).
For older adults with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia, the Reminiscence Memory Care Program offers mentally stimulating programming, calm environments and routines, and one-on-one support from Life Enrichment Managers. These specially trained professionals use research-backed techniques to teach life skills, unlock memories, provide meaningful experiences and promote social connections.

I'm currently paying [price removed] per day for them to give out 4 Tylenol (two pills, twice a day), and that isn't something I like at all. Tylenol isn't good for you in the first place, so if it were up to me it wouldn't happen. Once a day maybe would be fine, but 4 Tylenol per day and for the price, are both ridiculous. That's not what it was when she first went in, but its changed a bit. Before it was [price removed] a day, which is still a lot. If they could give it to her at bedtime, that would be better. I understand I can't visit multiple times a day to give it to her, but that's a lot of money for Tylenol. In that particular situation, it does seem like someone is trying to take advantage. Other than that, they're very nice and they take good care of her. She tries to sleep too much sometime and they don't stop her, which I understand they really can't because she'll do what she wants and they have to allow her. Other places have a flat rate, and don't charge you for each thing, but it just seemed like the people here were so nice during our tour and interactions. I love the people, the residents are very nice and the people who work here are as well. Sometimes she eats, sometimes she doesn't, but they do try and get her downstairs at least once per day. If she doesn't come down, they'll take her meals up. For the most part and from what I've seen, they do take really good care of them and they care about what they want. I have everything good to say about the community, except for the medication management. I think that they should be able to add that cost in with the extra care. My loved one isn't able to do much on her own, and I don't want her to go anywhere else. I think for the most part, she is more familiar with the people there. There are even a couple people that she gets excited to see! Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls is a very nice place, an awesome place actually. I love the people, they are so sweet and they're very welcoming. Again, my only issue is the medication management, but as far as everything and everyone else, its good. They do her laundry well, they leave no stains in her clothing, even after she spills.

I am someone who is the POA for my friend (even though I consider her family) who came to Sunrise in April 2022, the communication, friendliness of staff, cleanliness, meals, and services given are top notch. Staff have not hesitated and went above the normal call of duty to assist and make her feel at home. All the services my friend needed before making the decision were/are provided at Sunrise for less than the cost of other facilities who were not able to offer as much. What a great group of staff they have! Keep up the good work sunrise!!!!

I would tell others to just be hands on just to make sure everything is going alright. My mother was here during covid and they had good protocols. The facility was beautiful and the people were friendly. The value for the money was better than some others that we looked into in the area. We had a short experience but all in all, it was a nice place.
Read moreI have been to a couple of other facilities and have heard from unhappy residents from them. I have never heard anything bad from my dad or any other residents I have talked to at Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who asked me.
