We have been really impressed with not only the day to day staff but the higher ups in management with just how friendly and helpful they have been. They have had to cut back on the activities but we do wish they would do a little more to encourage the residents and our loved one to stay engaged. Our loved one really enjoys reading, so maybe they could have a book club or book group discussions. She also loves flowers, so for the residents who enjoy flowers and gardening maybe they could do some more things outside.

The decision to move family members from their own home into an assisted living facility is often a difficult decision for a family to make. However, the friendly staff and welcoming residents, coupled with the home-like atmosphere and great food made our decision an easy one! All staff from the housekeeping/maintenance crew, nursing/caregivers and all administrative staff warmly, as well as, the residents welcomed my family into the Stoney Brook family and over the years continued to treat them as such, even under difficult circumstances, such as, Covid. I must say, the residents at Stoney Brook are special! They reminded me of neighbors welcoming new families into a neighborhood. The seasonal decorations are wonderful and created a cheerful environment for my family to call home. However, if I were honest, I would have to say the delicious food played a big part in winning them over! My mother and her husband resided at Stoney Brook of Hewitt for several years prior to her death and provided them with some of the happiest years of their lives! Our family will be forever thankful for that priceless gift.
