Spring Lake in Paris, TX is the best AL/Memory Care unit in Paris. My wife was in the Memory Care Unit for 15 months and I was extremely pleased at how she was cared for and helped in coping with her Alzheimers. They not only took care of her basic needs but did things to stimulate her cognitive abilities. I'll never forget the day when a staff member showed me how Karen could recite her phone # and say her name! These people became like family to me. They not only helped my wife but helped me cope with a variety of emotional ups and downs. I highly recommend Spring Lake and hope the corporation will not over price it for the Paris, TX market.

Spring Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care looks very welcoming. It's more like you're going into a hotel type of thing. They have a little front desk, they have a central place to sit, and they have a kitchen. The residents look contented. There's interaction in the hallways between staff and them. They have a salon on-premise. It's like being in a small little hotel-type atmosphere. The times that I've gone there, it's been early, so a lot of activities haven't happened at that point. But they have a common room where they can play chess, they can play games, and can watch movies. There's like a garden in the middle, they can walk there, and they have barbecues. For those that don't need the extra help, the people that are a little more independent, they have the bus that will take them into town or take them places. On the other side, they have something on a schedule to help those that need the extra care for memory. They have single rooms, and they have rooms that are shared like two men or two women, and they're separated. So it's a common door and there's like a room on each side. They may share a bathroom, but their sleeping part is separate. Everything looks super clean and super well-organized. The staff looks like they're very patient with their residents. They seem very kindhearted, and that's important. They answered every question I had. They even went as far as to offer a virtual tour, calling them so that they can arrange that for you if you can't physically be there. I've looked at the place, and it looks better kept than most hotels do.

The facility itself is really clean but the individual house keeping could really be improved. When it comes to activities they bangs on drums and do bingo. A lot of the activities they said they would be offering are not offered and we do understand that they are understaffed but we are still expected to pay full price for everything.
Read moreIt has been a very good experience. It's very home-like. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is good - it tastes good, and I get no complaints from my loved one. Activities are somewhat limited due to Covid, but they still have quite a bit going on.

My mom seems to be doing really well at Spring Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care. We chose this place because of the facility itself, and the staff is very cordial to my mother and me. They're very attentive to her needs, and they keep me well-informed. They've really gone out of their way to make sure that she's being well taken care of. She says that the food is great. They do really well with the activities. They play games. They take them on field trips. They also have a lot of arts and crafts. They work on those skills with them to keep them active. As to what all the patients need, whether they're in memory care or whether they're assisted living, they make sure that they all are involved. When it comes to memory care, they have to really work with those patients to keep them from basically just wasting away. The more that they have them do, the better it's going to be on them. It's a really good facility. They have a beauty shop there. They could go down and get their own snacks whenever they want to, and they have a cappuccino machine. They have outside courtyards. They have an enclosed setting. Because mosquitos are really bad in Texas, they have places built around the atrium or the courtyard, where they can sit inside in the evenings. They also have a wonderful place to sit on rockers on the front porch. They allow them to have pets. They are a private-pay facility. They don't accept Medicaid.
