Everyone was very nice and helpful. They are taking really good care of my Mom.

Do not send your loved one here. There are very few good people left working here. I’m thankful for the good ones but the facility doesn’t like when they actually take care of residents. You better get ready to clean because the cleaning people only clean the walk area and get the trash. There is always trash on the floor near the beds and the walls are dirty. They spend more time in the hallway talking. The equipment is outdated and rusty. The doctor that is in this facility refuses to take orders from any other doctor that your loved one is seeing. He walks around with a clipboard without the patient’s information on it. My loved one ended up in the hospital shortly after one of his visits. They only have 2 activities so the residents spend time in the rooms or in the hallway. If your loved one has a problem with their roommates, it won’t matter to them. The food is horrible so you’ll have to bring your loved one food that they will like. I really wished they hadn’t sent my loved one here from the hospital.

My mother was recently discharged to Specialty Care for inpatient rehab following hip replacement surgery. My mother was discharged from the hospital and arrived to the facility around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon. Upon her arrival they initially put her in a bed that was not able to be lifted to allow her hips to be higher than her knees causing over rotation of her new hip joint. Their equipment was incredibly outdated and in poor conditions and all patient areas appearing dirty and in poor repair. The nurse did her admission paperwork and informed us that the physical therapist had already left for the day and would not be able to evaluate my mother to place orders for her care. Therefore, no one was willing to assist her with getting in and out of bed for toileting. My sister and I had to do so (prior to leaving at 8pm due to visitation hours) which was difficult and painful for my mother as the bed was so low. One nurse did change out the bed for one that would lift, but then proceeded to give instructions for getting back in bed that were the opposite of instructions from the hospital to prevent over rotation of her hip. This nurse also scooted my mother in an old wooden chair across the room as a way to get her closer to the bed. Then instructed the tech to use a shower chair with a bucket on the floor under it to allow for toileting in the middle of the night. Very unsanitary and dangerous instructions given to the tech whom did refuse instructions as she recognized the risks, but refused to assist in moving without proper instructions from PT. My mother then went for 16 hours without any of her medications for pain management (which I ended up bringing from home), COPD, and high BP. 16 HOURS OF INADEQUATE CARE!! The following morning in my attempts to advocate for my mother it was apparent that this facility was ill equip to manage any vulnerable adult care and I took my mother home. I repeatedly addressed concerns to the social worker and director of nursing for allowing a facility to admit a new patient without a PT consult available to direct patient care. Then allowing staff to neglect any care for a patient for 16 hours while waiting for completion of the evaluation. Please do not send your family members here if you have any alternative choices as they will likely fall victim to medical neglect.
