I love how my mother is treated and cared for here. I wish she had come here first instead of Solaris Healthcare. She would most likely still have her right leg. I love how my mother is treated and cared for here. I wish she had come here first instead of Solaris Healthcare. She would most likely still have her right leg. I''m sure this place would have stepped up and been proactive, rather that simply give reassurances and let her foot go to gangrene like Solaris Healthcare did. The staff are so kind and have such a positive demeanor. They have activities and participatory events. They have a "recreation" room (they may use another term) and physical therapy room. The residents have freedom here. You don''t see residents vying to escape the facility as is the case at Solaris Healthcare, those poor souls. My mother is treated with respect and like a person, rather than a case number. My mother is not ambulatory and they get her out of bed. She receives occasional showers rather than only bed bathing all the time. The staff is on top of schedules such as feeding, something my mother cannot do for herself and is completely dependant via a tube. She receives actual therapy. Despite all that my mother has to contend with as a result of her stroke, these people actually get my mother to smile and laugh. They do so much for my mother. They aren''t just talk and promises, they actually do the things that they say they will and follow through.

A great big thank you to Amanda Waddell for all her help in getting my brother admitted to Southern Oaks Care Center. The process at times, seemed to be overwhelming, but Amanda was there every step of the way. At this time in his life when he was so discouraged with health problems and just life itself, she was so encouraging with such kindness, sympathy, and her sweet spirit. She does not meet a stranger and treated us as though she had known us forever. We love and appreciate Amanda!
