The tour we had at Sonata Hunter's Creek was really good. I truly appreciated the help of Ashley. She went through all the details that we needed to know. It was a very beautiful place. They had private rooms, and that's something that we liked. They had different rooms where they could get together. They had a beautiful patio area and a gym where they could do therapy. It was such a big place for my father and they had so much space. Safety was very important for them. The way people would go in and out, they needed to have a special fob. I liked that they were very strict in the sense of safety, but at the same time, you could go and see them any time. I liked that flexibility. I liked that they were very, very safe and that they could not really wander around and then get lost.

I'm going to use Sonata Hunter's Creek for my brother-in-law, and he's needing memory care. I was going to do respite care to try to give myself a break from him, but I think I'm going to go ahead and just let him go over there permanently. Hopefully, if everything goes well, we can get him in there by next week. When I walked through, the facility was very clean. The young lady that was at the front desk was very professional, very friendly, and courteous. The person who did the tour with me, Tammy, was very pleasant and very thorough it. She explained everything and walked me through. She took me to one of the model rooms and the memory care unit. The unit itself was very clean, and the staff that was there was nice and friendly. I took my brother-in-law there with me, and they engaged him in the activities. They got him engaged with the resident that was there. They observed him and he seemed to follow along with them as they were instructing him. I kind of liked it. They were playing music and I got involved because it was just a very pleasant, happy environment. One of the residents was dancing and she asked me to come dance with her and I went out there and danced with her. It was very pleasant. I liked the atmosphere. The staff during the tour was very professional and thorough in touring and explaining everything. When she got done, she asked if I have any questions and I had no questions because she went over pretty much everything that I needed to know. They have their own outdoor courtyard with trees, flowers, tables, and chairs. It's a nice little area out there for them to go and get some fresh air.

Mom moved into Sonata Hunter's Creek, and she's happy there. She's happy she got back her independence, but at the same time, I feel she's safe. There's always somebody 24/7, and she's made friends. She's got one of those things that you put around your neck in case you fall or something, and you can press it. I think they're all very nice. The nurses would call me at night if they have a concern or if something have happened. They want to talk with me, so I think they care. She loves the food. She likes everything, I guess the treatment, the way that people treat her, and the staff, and nurses. Everything is beautiful, very clean, very modern, with pretty colors, and is light. They have a lot of activities. Every time I go there, there's always something going on. From live music to bingo to different games. They even have a piano. Sometimes it's a guy that comes over and plays the piano.
