It was located near lots of shopping. They had a lovely dining room, and they allowed smoking, which was a biggie for me because I'm a smoker. But the rooms were much smaller than the other place. It was older, but it was very nice. The staff member who gave the tour was not really friendly. She kind of dumped me off on people and I didn't get a good feel for how much everything would cost, and so I was a little disappointed. The food was good. For activities they allowed dogs, because I saw dogs. They had a library so you could read. Everybody there was so nice.

Even though my POA was only incase I couldn’t make my own decision. But he demanded she be part of the conversation and told me to come back with her. I won’t go back at all. I was treated badly and rudely by him like I can’t make my own decisions. Who wants to live where the manager treats you like your stupid.

The tour at Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West was good. Oddly, they weren't expecting us. We were on their schedule, which was kind of strange, so we had to wait a little while to have somebody free up or something to take us around, which was okay. When we came in, it had more of a hotel feel than a home feel. There were people in the lobby, but nobody spoke to us other than the tour lady. The staff was nice and very helpful. She showed us various rooms, and some were being renovated. It's a bigger facility. It had these long corridors. Aside from the first floor, where most of the activities and things are, the others were not air-conditioned, so it was pretty warm. When we went to look at the exercise room, I noticed that two treadmills up there were out of order.

Some of the things we like is that the outdoor area has a bocce ball court. The outside was quite large with the pool of course. We liked the outside, but the gym was kind of disappointing. In terms of location, it's close to restaurants and hospitals, too.
