Colonial has been my 2nd home since my teenage years. It’s just home to me. I love the atmosphere and the great teamwork we have. It’s takes a lot of passion and love to do what we do. We all come together and make our/your loved ones feel safe and at home.
Great place to work!

I have worked at many different nursing homes in the Louisville and outlying areas. It was requested by a friend that I apply to work at this facility. I was apprehensive but applied anyway. I talked with them for over a month as I was afraid of the change. Well I took the plunge and took the job and then asked myself what in the heck was I afraid of. This facility is the chic fil a of healthcare. I enjoy working here because the staff works together. All the way up to the Don and administrator. The staff is always willing to help each other and no job is beneath anyone. I can see this being my final job until I retire. If you want a good facility where staff works together and actually shows up for work. Then apply at Signature Colonial. You’ll be glad you did!

I had been aide at colonial for 6 years now, colonial was a great building to work at. For many it was almost a second home, some people have been in the building 10 years plus because of how much they enjoyed their job and loved what they do. It is an older building but the experienced staff was what made it so great because they really cared and took their jobs seriously. But recently new administration took over and I want to shed some light on some disturbing things going on. Residents are not receiving the appropriate care they need due to poor management and staffing, and the aides are not to blame. The administration team at colonial are very rude to their employees, and if you defend yourself or speak up about something you dont agree with your fired. Its gotten to the point where staff and residents are scared to speak up due to retaliation from the administrator and DON. The administrator is very unprofessional and allows her mother to hang out in the building while conducting business. They do not care about their staff nor their residents and they have made that clear if the aides are short on the floor they will not come out and help their staff or residents. They have ran off over half of the staff in the building. Some mornings when I would leave there would only be 1 certified aide for the whole building and the rest would be students who very limited to what they can and cant do, due to not being certified. They always are short on supplies for the residents and for the nurses to provide care. They do not respect the rights of our residents, the administrator and DON have been complained on by residents for going through there belongings while not being present. Residents, families and staff have called and called the signature careline to complain but NOTHING is being done, they just keep sweeping the complaints under the rug. Recently I was let go and wrongfully terminated for speaking up. I was clocked out of the building and tried contacting my DON Leann Goodlett to speak with her about some disturbing rumors and allegations that were made. When I called her she was very rude screaming at me before I could even tell her why I was calling. She made it clear she did not care for her staff nor trust them and she did not care to hear what I had to say. After she rudely hung up on me I tried contacting my administrator to notify her of what was going on but I was told she was out of town. So then I contacted Carter in HR and filed a complaint on the DON. Other aides had called as well to report her inappropriate behavior with them as well, but Carter in HR does not care. After filing the complaint on Leann I was terminated in less than 48 hours and was told it was because of the way I spoke to her. I have never received a write up, I have never had abuse allegations made on me or anything in all of time working for signature, but because I spoke up in how I felt I was being harrassed and treated I was fired. I had told HR all of this she did not care and advised me to call the careline but people the careline does not work!!!! That is something they tell you to pacify you and make it sound like they care nothing is being done about any of the complaints made. They could not pay me to come back in the building while under the administration of Bryna Price and Leann Goodlett but I do want people to be aware before you choose this building think twice weather it''s for a job or you looking for a home for a loved one. It does not matter how long you''ve dedicated your time to them or how much your loved one gives up to go there they do not care about anything but themselves and what makes them look good on paper. Please be aware when your going into a nursing home look at the residents, look at the staff, watch how the management team interacts with residents and employees. Be involved and ask as many questions you can so your aware of what you or your loved ones walking into. AND PLEASE SPEAK UP IF YOU SEE SOMETHING OR SOMEONE BEING DONE WRONG DO NOT LET THESE CORPORATE BULLIES SILENCE YOU!
