I went to Serenity Manor. It's a home with a max of six residents. They have two owners, and one of them lives there. She lives in the upstairs apartment. There is always two to three staff, so you have a great ratio of staff to residents. Currently, none of the residents are ambulatory. Most of them are advanced dementia patients and need to be lifted with a Hoyer. Right now, it's not ideal for them, but that's what they're getting. Right now, advanced memory care is what they're getting now. I couldn't even talk to the patients because they were so demented. It's a higher level of care and a lot of one-on-one. I think one of the rooms is shared. It's extremely clean. When you walk in, you were in the kitchen common area. Off to the right are the dining room and the living room, and then behind the kitchen is an L-shaped hallway with bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, too. It's very clean and very nice. If I had somebody who needed 24-hour care like that, that'd be great. I was impressed with the staff, too.

I came across this facility on line while looking to place my Mom In a long term setting. They are very accommodating to all of our family members and especially to mom. Mom has a lot of health issues that require attention to detail. This place met and exceeded our expectations. The workers are amazing and professional, and they actually care. The owners are on site working along with their staff. Food is home cooked and mom loves it. I would never recommend placing a parent in a large facility. We did and we regret it because mom would not gotten so many health issues. If we came here first, mom would have been better off. This place is the way to go. We thank God we found them. We highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to place their parents.

This is one of the worst places that I’ve encountered to put my parent. The owners didn’t like changes to the bedroom, one activity which was above skill level, but otherwise my parent was left to sit on the couch to watch tv. Food was boring. Had to call to visit my parent assuming they had to make things perfect. My parent needed physical therapy to walk better again after a short stay there. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
