This facility is not at all what they are trying to portray, and they have a fake image. My mom stayed there for a short time, but she was promised many events, most of which were cancelled short-notice. The activities were never meant to happen because it was not organized. But they were on the calendar so it looked busy. Also, they ordered medicine against our doctor’s orders, and I kept telling them not to give it to her. They continued ordering it anyways until I demanded they contact the doctor to stop. We got a bill from the pharmacy for over $640 for medicine that was not supposed to be ordered. They were supposed to order physical therapy for my mom, but dropped the ball and it didn’t happen. The night before I discharged her, I asked them about this therapy. Finally they said it was going to occur (after she left there?!). I called to inquire about lack of therapy and overage of the medicine. Got no response back. Probably because she wasn’t there anymore so we were ignored. I asked 5 times one day to test her for a UTI. I was told yes they would do it that day. After the 5th time, they said they weren''t doing that anymore that night. Not til 2 days later. Finally when they did, they gave me no results. After she left, I called and said they never gave me results. They said yes she had a UTI. Hell, that 6 day lapse could have given her the antibiotics sooner but I should not have had to keep prodding for answers. The medicine could have killed her with too much they ordered, and she was getting no walking or therapy like her plan said. On the plan, it said if they evacuate, they will not take the cat out with her. F—- that! How can a 90-year-old carry a cat? I asked that. Then the nasty nurse in charge said, “that’s my point. If she can’t carry it, then she shouldn’t have him here.” Great attitude for lonely elderly people who need their best friend with them!!! Do not ever sign your relative up here. They owe us over $5,000 and have never given it to us.

I'm very pleased with Senior Star at Elmore Place Memory Care. My only rub is the cost, which is more than my mother's monthly income. I suggest them to anyone I know, regarding a safe and clean residence for their loved one. Communications with the family is great, with a daily activity log, pictures and updates. They have been very good in keeping me informed on any issues, such as her general attitude and any needs that they identify. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
Read moreMy family and I didn't have the best experience with Senior Star at Elmore Place. The community was clean. However, the staff didn't follow the plan of care for our loved one. This is even after we mentioned to the staff our concerns. Overall, we were disappointed in our experience.

I moved my husband there to a studio apartment in November. I moved him out yesterday. there are too many residents in assisted living compared to the number of staff. communication is horrible, starting from the top down. complaints are not followed up on, nor taken seriously. there are many well intentioned nurses and caring partners, who do their best but as one partner said, "she was running around like a headless chicken". only one positive note; the wait staff in the dining room is exceptional; however, I don''t like the idea of residents having to wait for in-room meals until the dining room is cleared. we enjoyed meeting some of the residents, and will miss seeing them, but I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
