I had an in-person tour of Holiday Windlands East. When I first walked in, the people were so nice and friendly. It just seemed like such a warm and happy place. The guy who showed me around was very nice. It seems like they had everything. The staff members were very welcoming and knowledgeable. I was impressed. They have a beauty shop there, a podiatrist who was coming in, and different people who come in and do things.

The tour at Holiday Windlands East was very personal. The residents were very complimentary about it. My mother was delighted. The facility was very clean. I thought it was very accessible for the residents. As far as someone who has more accessibility to care for themselves, it was very open and friendly. The staff and the director were very helpful. They invited us to stay for lunch, which we did. They were very open about what was there. They had some of the residents come and tell us what they thought about it. The residents were very pleased with their own place. According to the calendar they showed us, they had some pretty good activities available, but I didn't see a whole lot going on at the time we were there. They had a library and a courtyard where they could go out and sit.

The tour with Holiday Windlands East was very good. The staff was excellent. The upstairs apartment area was nice, but the downstairs area that had the one room was awful because it was filthy and smelled terrible. And I was kind of shocked by how smelly it was. But those were not the rooms my brother was going to be going in. He was going to the apartments upstairs which were clean and very nice. He gave me a calendar of activities, it wasn't too extensive, but it had some things. They had a nice library, and I like the fact that they take the residents out of the facility and drive them to places. I liked that, it appeared that the people were downstairs and that they were making use of that because they were talking about going to Kroger, going here, going there. And I think that was very good.

We went to visit the Holiday Windlands East where everybody was very friendly and very welcoming. Having been to its sister community, I couldn't say that it looked up to par. It didn't look dirty or anything like that, it just had a different feel to it. Their rooms and layout of the building and everything were pretty much the same between this one and its sister facility. It was clean, maybe it just needed a fresh coat of paint or something. I think the person who gave me the tour was new. She was very helpful, had a lot of information, and answered all of our questions, but still didn't seem to have as much knowledge. They had a place outdoors where they could do shuffleboard, they had arts and crafts, a chapel, a movie room, and a media room. So they had all the amenities.

My father is a resident of Holiday Windlands East. The people were friendly. I had lunch with them, and the food was good. Unfortunately, though, since that time, they've had some prolonged problems with the elevators not working so they are not able to go down for their meals. The meals have been delivered up for them and the quality of the food since they've been doing that has deteriorated. I know they are in the process of getting the elevators fixed, but it changed their opinion of the place because the food was not as good as it was when they first moved in. The staff were friendly. I just met them when I went to eat, so, it was just the people who were serving. He had a 1-bedroom. When you walk in, there's the living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a little kitchen area. It's a nice size for him and his wife. The dining area is very nice. They have tables with four chairs at each table. The people bringing the food out are very friendly. It didn't take a long time to serve a room. It was a good atmosphere.

The friendliness of the staff members really varies greatly between person to person. They do have a really good variety when it comes to the meals but when it comes to the overall dining experience they are very inconsistent about when you can get into the dining hall. They have activities for those who wish to partake in them but there is not an abundance amount of them. They are having an ice cream social today for those who want to have ice cream. The cost here includes all utilities, meals and cable which cannot be beat it is really outstanding
