So far, Silverado Rolling Hills has been the best for my husband. He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The staff are very likable. Many of them are quite young. My husband enjoys them because they're full of life, and they are very helpful. He just enjoys being around them. He likes to hang around in the dining room and that type of thing. The activities people are full of fun, and he enjoys them a lot. Every day they have yoga on the chair, a little relaxation activity, and a cup of coffee with something. They have big TV screens. They have like 'the odd person out.' They have little figures on it, and there is one that doesn't look like the others. They will try to figure out which one is different. That is the game they use every day with all different figures. They also have questions for young children, 'Tell us a toy or a food that starts with an A, and then tell me the same thing that starts with a B.' They have that kind of thing going on. They also have tables with puzzles and blocks that they can put together and things like that. The food is absolutely delicious. I usually have lunch with my husband. It's usually a soup, a main dish, and a dessert. In the afternoon, they will have a cup of tea with maybe one little snack. The full dinner is mostly soup (or sometimes salad), a main dish, and a dessert. The food is very fresh and organic. There are fresh flowers on the dining table. They use nice table mats, napkins, chinaware, and real glasses. I don't see any plastic around. It's a very beautiful place. Downstairs is for better patients. My husband is upstairs, and I like that because there's so much light and lots and lots of big windows. You can see over the city, the hills, and the mountains. It is beautifully decorated. I think for my husband, that is important. He likes to see bright lights. I think the staff are trained in how to deal with the dementia people. They are always very patient, and they always look after them. It's very open. If somebody is walking down the corridors, they keep an eye on them all the time. For me, it is very expensive. It is hard for me to be paying this all along, but as I checked other places out, they're just as expensive. It is a small building. They only take about 30 patients altogether. The lobby is smaller than some of them. That's the only thing I can say, and maybe a little bit less parking and stuff like that. The building is very beautiful and very clean. For my husband, since he doesn't get around and doesn't need a big area outside, it is perfect. It may not be for everybody.

My mother is moving into Silverado Rolling Hills. We toured other communities and this one by far is the best. We like the staff. The staff seemed to be very happy to work there, and we saw a very good interaction between the people that live there in memory care and the staff. It's brand new, so we like that about it. The rooms are much bigger than a lot of the other places we saw. Because their facility is brand new, it's a very nice facility, and they keep people very active there. They get them up early in the morning and they keep them busy all day long. Everybody in there has either Alzheimer's or dementia, and the people do very, very well. We had a meal there. The food was amazing. They have a very good chef. It's kind of like a resort more than a memory care. They showed us the residents were working on some flower arrangements and some art projects. They were working on puzzles, and one of the times we went there they had an outside musician come in and about 15 of their patients were listening to a guitar player and singer. Whoever is their activities director is doing an amazing job, because they're keeping them busy all the time, and they also take them out in a bus on field trips to places close by. My whole family has now agreed that this is by far the best place to take my mom. We're really excited, and my mom's excited. We actually got salmon for lunch and it was very, very good. Their facilities were amazing. It's topnotch.

Everything has been pretty good over there so far. The staff members have been very attentive to all of the residents.
I would recommend it. I enjoyed the tour. They were very good. The staff was very good. But the bottom line is, it was too far. I liked the bedrooms, and the whole facility was nice.
