We had an in-person tour of San Gabriel Memory Care. They had a ton of weeds in their landscaping, but the inside of the place was very nice. The lady we talked with was very nice. The facility looks nice and clean. The room was a nice size. They had a nice bathroom. They said you had to bring your own furniture. The facility was very small, which I thought would be good, except that it was a little extra quiet. The people we saw were really friendly. They would smile and say hi as we went by, but they weren't doing anything. They were just sitting there. There were probably only ten people out in the eating area.

I went to San Gabriel Memory Care. It was way out of our range. However, the facility was nice, and the people were very pleasant. It was very clean and not cluttered with stuff. The rooms were bigger, which is probably why the cost was higher. They had more room in their units. I was impressed and happy with them until I found out the price. The staff was thorough in trying to find out what Mom's needs were. She showed me everything. There was a garden/courtyard, too.

My sister is at the San Gabriel Memory Care and she's very happy there. Her daughter moved her in and I have not visited that place yet, but I think it's a very good place for her, because it's around a lot of people. Where she was before, she was in her home alone. The staff is caring. The food is wonderful too, and that pleases me, because I don't feel like she's getting a balanced diet at home, because they were just feeding what she wanted. Price wise, they are overly expensive, and I think we would have gotten the same thing from another place.

I toured San Gabriel Memory Care. I had made an appointment. I got there, somewhere down the line they didn't know I was gonna show up, but she sat down and talked to me for two hours. Even after our conversation I emailed her, and I said, "Could you email me your activities?" They looked like they had very good activities both for men and women. What I liked about it was it was strictly all memory care and they were all like different levels. I liked the room, she took me in, and I'd seen the room, how it was set up. It was very nice. It was small, it was nice, she said whatever you see on this side of the building is exactly, furniture wise, everything is identical. They don't want Dad to be confused, so it looks the same. They don't want outsiders coming in and working in the dining room. It's their actual nurses, nurses aides, they're the ones eating with the residents and helping them with their meals. I liked that. They have their own kitchen, and they have safety features. I thought she was very friendly, very informative, and she gave me a tour of the place. However, they were more expensive than the other place.
