Roseleaf Gardens had low staff numbers. It didn't feel very inviting to put my mother there. The person that took us in for the interview was very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. However, while touring the facility, I smelt a lot of fecal matter, which was off-putting. I know that's going to happen with care facilities like that, but it was not very inviting. The dining areas were clean. They had a soda bar. They had arts and crafts, gardening, and animal therapy.

I put my mother in Roseleaf Gardens. It's OK, but it's like a hotel. Everyone has been really wonderful, and I really needed that. They have activities. I usually go see her every day at around 9:00, and then at 10:00. They have exercises. They have movies. They play bingo, and they have entertainment on the weekends. I haven't been there for all of that, but people have told me what my mom has taken part in. It sounds like they do a lot more than she was doing here with me. I haven't tasted the food. My mom has a really big appetite, and she eats it. She said it was good. I have been there for breakfast. It's usually scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and sometimes oatmeal. The staff is very helpful and very kind. I don't have any complaints about the people working there. The manager brought all the paperwork to my house on Saturday, so that I could fill it out. She was able to move in the next Monday, so that was a really good thing. I really appreciated that. The facility is very clean and really spacious. There are a lot of people with walkers and wheelchairs. It just seems a little bare sometimes when nobody is there, and all the chairs are empty. It's a nice place. Value for the money is good. It's comparable to every other place I looked.

For someone with memory issues, Roseleaf Gardens would be a nice place. However, the rooms were really small and very dark in olive green color. It was kind of depressing. It had gates around everything and it felt more institutionalized. There's a courtyard that the residents can go to, but that's as far as they can go. There was no real view from the room. They do have lots of great things that they're doing for the residents there, like bingo, and arts and crafts. Each pod has around 6 to 8 rooms, and they all share a bathroom. Each pod has its own little eating area and they had it cutely decorated, looking like cafes from different parts of the world. The staff who gave us the tour was quite nice, but it didn't give me that warm feeling. It was more like a sales pitch tour. They didn't ask questions about mom, they were just more focused on getting her in there as soon as possible.

They have outdoor patio areas, they have a sports pub, and have a card room. They have activities directors for exercise and games. I think they play bingo and trivia games. They have movies and jigsaw puzzles for them. They have lots of lots of things. They're wonderful. The staff is fabulous. They are so kind and so wonderful. The facility is very nice and very well-kept. It's a very good value. This was the best that I saw.

Roseleaf Gardens seemed spacious and quieter than some other places I've been to. People seemed pretty nice and the staff seemed very informative and very helpful. They answered all the questions I had satisfactorily. They showed me the list of activities for each day for this month. They have a theater, which is nice, and they have a lot of stuff going on that people are interested in. I think my mom, who's a real active person, would probably appreciate that more. They also have a game room, a library, and people hanging out in the lounge. They can do pretty much whatever they like. The outdoors were spacious enough that they can just go for walks in the backyard. It had a lot of trees and plants. It looks nice.
