I am comfortable here, have met many new people. The many activities physical and mental have been very helpful.
I recently visited a resident at the Manor section of Riverwoods. It was a beautiful, clean environment. The area where we signed in was where we had a problem. I recently visited a resident at the Manor section of Riverwoods. It was a beautiful, clean environment. The area where we signed in was where we had a problem. This was our first visit to this establishment. There were 2 women at the check in area. We waited for at least 10 minutes, while the two employees discussed work related things. They never acknowledged us, or even looked at us. This is unacceptable. They must acknowledge people when they arrive. A simple Hello, I will be right with you, is all that is necessary. I had to interrupt their conversation to get help. Maybe a Customer Service class would help.

Downhill all the way. Not a desirable place to live anymore. Not a retirement community . No perks to speak of. Not what it was in years gone by. Dinning room a d food lousy. Do not recommend !!!! I am updating my review of Riverwood Senior living campus. This place is getting worse. ALL our perks are disappearing. There is practically nothing left but living quarters. Dinning room STILL LOUSY. ALL WE HEAR IS EXCUSES ABOUT HIRING. They have cutt everything here. It is all about money. They are robbing us blind. Ask anyone who has lived here for five years or more. They will tell you how TERRIBLE THIS HAS BECOME. I wouldn''t recommend it to my worst enemy. WE ARE NOT GETTING OUR MONIES WORTH. THEY DON''T HESITATE TO GIVE US BIG RENT RAISES EVERY YEAR. ASBURY IS BIG BUSINESS FOLKS AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF US HERE AT RIVERWOOD!!!!!!THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN THE BUCKS AND THE HELL WITH THE RESIDENTS !!!!!Update 4 May 2022. This place continues to get worse. Asbury continues to reduce all perks at this location. It is to save money at the residents expense. IT IS NOT A RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, IT IS ONLY A SENIOR RESIDENT LOCATION !!!!! WE ARE PAYING FOR EXPENSIVE MISTAKES BY THE PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT THAT BANKRUPTED THIS PLACE.IT IS A SAD AND DEPRESSING DEVELOPMENT !!!!!! Riverwood ( ASBURY ), has dropped to a new low. It is just a high priced senior residence anymore. Don''t come here expecting any kind of perks. They don''t exist. Dinning room stinks. Menu is lousy and prices are ridiculously high. Box lunches if you want room delivery to your residence and there is a five dollar charge. If you want cleaning service (bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, etc.), you will have to hire outside help. I strongly do not recommend Riverwood unless you just want a high price place to live. .8 july 2922, No appreciable improvements in my mind. Staff in residents are IM COMPETENT. LIE LIKE HELL, DON''T ANSWER PHONES, DON''T RETURN PHONE CALLS. STILL DECLINE TO SPEND MONEY ON MINOR NECESSITIES. This senior resident is being run by ASBURY, out of Maryland. Local CEO cannot make decisions that would improve living conditions here. Dinning room is a disgrace. Menu is lousy and food is terrible. Prices are ridiculous. We are not in NEW YORK CITY, THIS IS LEWISBURG, PA., and food prices should be competitive. You will NOT get what they say you will. I stand behind everything I say, and I will debate with anyone who lives, or works here. I am a 14 year, 6 months resident here and I know what I am talking about. I DO NOT LIE NOR DO I NEED TOO !!!!!!! .

June 2022 WHY WE CHOSE RIVERWOODS TO BE OUR HOME My husband and I had been thinking for a fews years about moving to PA from RI. When the time came we needed somewhere that would be able to fit our needs. My husband had a cerebral bleed 13 years ago and was living at an assisted living place and I was living in our condo. Due to my own health issues I was not able to take care of my husband 24/7. Our daughter who lives in Watsontown, PA heard about Riverwoods and suggested we look into it. That was the beginning of our journey here. I came on my own to see what Riverwoods had to offer. I was impressed with all the options they had in living styles. It ranged from independent living to nursing home care. The facility and grounds were also very impressive. There is a cafe, restaurant, pool, exercise areas, a chapel and a walking trail. It also has its own pharmacy. The grounds are very impressive. Lots of trees, shrubbery and flowers. If you live in the cottages you are able to plant flowers and have a small garden. They have an impressive staff beginning with the executive director and his very capable, helpful and friendly staff; a very well informed nursing staff, maintenance, wellness director, excellent chef and staff. I could go on. There are many others involved. A lot of the people who live here are very active in maintaining a close watch about what is going on here. Whatever you may be interested in doing you will find it here. If not, just ask and it may come to fruition. We moved to Riverwoods on November 9, 2020. Covid was rampant. There were a lot of rules to follow, just as there were anywhere. We made the choice of having Linton move into Riverwoods Manor; it is a personal care unit. This is a place where he would get the professional care he needed and live independently as he is able. Between the beautiful apartments or cozy cottages I chose to purchase a four room cottage which is five minutes by car or a fifteen minutes walk to Linton. I was able to do a few adjustments to the cottage to make it my home. It has been a year and a half since we moved here. We are very comfortable and loving it. I don’t want to live anywhere else.
