My brother was in a Personal Care Home, and needed to move to a facility that could give a higher level of care than he was getting at the PCH. I was in a time crunch to get him moved, and the staff at Riverside, in conjunction with Hospice, was able to process all of his information very quickly. They had, in 3 days time, gotten everything lined up for him to be admitted, but, sadly, 2 days before that, he passed away. I was very impressed with the attention and follow-through that I saw with the staff, which seems to be going away in these times.

My husband was at this facility and we were very disappointed in the quality or lack of quality of care he received during his entire stay. He had several underlying issues while at Riverside that were never addressed and actually ignored which resulted in a steady decline in his condition upon admissions. I finally came and picked him up unexpectedly one day, transported him to Athens Piedmont for a complete evaluation. He was severely malnourished, dehydrated and admitted in Piedmont Athens for stage 5 kidney failure. The staff at Riverside was for the biggest part a very detached non-caring group of folks. A very common reply from staff to patients is…”oh that is not my job”. They lost my husbands clothing items on several occasions and actually took personal property from him without returning. The best thing we ever did was discharge ourselves from this facility. Now, I completely understand their regimented visitation policy. They don’t want you there so you can’t see what’s actually going on the behind closed doors.

Alright let me start by saying if you have a loved one in this home take them out. My name is Jason hall and on September 15th my mother Brenda hall was found in her room hanging by the blinds cord. My mother was sick with Alzheimer’s and didn’t even know her name. The social worker contacted me and told what happend and said she reported the incident because she said it looked very suspicious. We have hired a wrongful death suit attorney and we are going to find the truth in all this. Please do your research before you consider putting a loved one in this facility.If anyone would like to come forward with any information contact me.
