My mom wished to move out of her house but not leave the area. She does not require assisted living, but wanted that available for when she does. I was having a hard time locating an acceptable, yet affordable senior living place where she could keep her cat. The Riverglen has been a dream come true. The staff is wonderful. The food is excellent. The proximity to downtown Littleton (right across the bridge) has been great. Now she doesn''t need to think about bills and house upkeep and I don''t have to worry about her all alone! I recommend the Riverglen to anyone in a similar situation.

The tour we had at Riverglen House was very good. The woman worked around our own work schedule, and she was willing to stay late in the evening. So, that was appreciated. She seemed to understand the situation and gave us some good advice in terms of approaching the subject with our mom. Overall, we were very pleased. The rooms were very nice and clean. We saw the dining area, which looked like a nice community dining room. It wasn't a sterile feeling. The rooms themselves were a little bit smaller, but it definitely would have been a place that we would have gone.

Perhaps even challenge the ED in a small way initially, to gauge any reaction or change in tone realistically and mindfully. There are some phenomenal people here, but unfortunately, they do not wield much, if any power. 10/25/23 I feel it necessary to add an addendum for further context and clarification since receiving a response from Riverglen House to my original review: I first considered posting a review several months ago after exploring the facility to the very best of my ability and after several fruitless attempts at communicating and collaborating with Joe, personally, to express and address my questions and concerns over relatively minor issues which quickly developed into an increasing sense of alarm due to the manor in which I was responded to, if at all. At first my questions were brushed off politely and invalidated, often done in a light, joking kind of way. Further queries were met with more and more agitation, curtness and gaslighting. Assurances which had only been verbalized to me from Joe throughout the application process later weren’t “remembered” at all or were remembered very differently from what I was originally told and differed greatly from the detailed notes that I took during these conversations. Still, I thought that perhaps my experience could be the exception and so held back from poorly rating this facility. After all, there truly are some exemplary staff here who care very much about the residents and try their utmost to enrich their lives to the very best of their collective ability. However, through numerous conversations with other community members since, I have learned that many others’ experiences very closely mirror my own, which is what finally led me to post my review. It is absolutely unnerving how certain themes and phrases are familiar to us all as they were spoken to each of us individually and at different times by the same person (Joe). One common quote or inference was “I’m the boss (or “this is my house”) and I can do whatever I want”. Another more troubling one, iterated word-for-word without fail, was simply: “I’m not the guy that you want to p*ss off.” All of us were immediately asked to post five-star reviews on Google- even upon move-in, before time enough had passed to have any real idea of what the situation might be or have a fully-formed opinion of it. Also, we noted that we had all happened to encounter the same cheerful, engaging residents during the course of our respective tours, while others who seemed to be attempting to approach us were swiftly re-routed, distracted or dismissed in one way or another. To be clear, my review was specifically intended to address the questionable intentions and utter lack of integrity of the Executive Director, Joe, and whomever he answers to, if anyone. Hindsight is 20/20 but buyers can only beware of what they are made aware of. Best of luck and blessings to all.

I had a very good tour of Riverglen House. I viewed the whole operation. The rooms were very lovely. They were small, perhaps a little too small for my needs at this point. It was in the middle of the afternoon, and it was between preparing meals. The food smelled good. In terms of activities, a couple of the residents left their apartment and went downstairs to the community room to sit with friends. Basically, it was a very, very quiet time. The people I met were most welcoming. The place was very neat, very clean, very bright, and very well-lit with lots of windows.
