She gives him a shower, she'll wash the dishes, any tidying up or whatever, fold my laundry, whatever I need. She is very good with her job. She has compassion and she really cares. My husband has Parkinson's, and she communicates with him. She's always talking to him and getting him to talk, which is more than I can do. She's always trying to get him to do things. She's here when the other therapists are here as well. I have respite days and the aide does a six-hour day by herself and I can always depend on her. She's so dependable. I don't have to worry when I'm gone. She gives him his meds. She makes him drink his water. I don't have to worry about him falling. She's just wonderful. I couldn't do without her. I had to go through three caregivers before I got this one. I got a good one this time.

I'm using Right at Home and my caregiver is Ramona. I've been using them for over six years now. She drives well, she helps me shop, and she carries on a conversation. She began working with us when I was having vision problems and my wife had problems. There was a good deal more initially, but my wife has passed away, so there's just me and the caregiver serves as a driver and a shopper. I have a pretty much permanent schedule with this particular girl for half a day, one day a week, and we have an understanding that if she has a problem or if I have a problem, we can move it, but it's usually Tuesday, half a day.

We have had reliable caregivers for the last several years. Current caregiver is never late and understands the nature of the illness. The family member they are assisting can be a bit stubborn and current caregiver handles this well.
