Prince Gorge is a very nice place. I have been in another facility in Columbia, SC and I am glad I came here. The people are very nice. We became like family. The folks that work there took good care of me and now I can go home.

I work in healthcare and I’ve worked in places like this. They will keep your family member as long as they can to bill insurance for “therapy” even when no progress is made. My grandmother was more independent before she went into this place AND they lost all of her clothes. On the day of my scheduled meeting with the interdisciplinary team ( nurses, therapists) to discuss my grandmothers progress, they called me two hours early asking if I was available to participate in the team meeting early. When I told them that no, I was working and scheduled the meeting around my work schedule, they told me “no problem”, but had the meeting without me anyway. I had to call the director to get them to set up another meeting in order to find out my grandmothers progress. When I finally got to have that meeting the staff was just like “so what do you want to know?” Are you serious?! Obviously i want to know the data. I want to know what her starting scores were with therapy and where she is now. I want to know your plan for getting her to the goals you’ve made for her. I want to know her progress or lack there of and the barriers you’ve identified to her making progress. It was unbelievable. As a professional who participates in these types of meetings regularly I was blown away by the lack of professionalism and exclusion of the family in a residents plan of care. If your loved one doesn’t qualify for inpatient rehab you’re better off keeping your family member home and getting home health. At least then you can see what they’re doing and actively participate because these people will keep you in the dark and in a worst case scenario your loved one will be worse off than when they went in.

My husband was at PG for 2+ months. I was with him 10 hours every day. So, I saw first hand how the staff took care of the patients. My husband was fortunate in that he did have someone to watch over his care. However, some patients are not as fortunate. The staff was very attentive from social services to nursing to therapies to personal care to wound care to cleaning to maintenance and laundry. We were very pleased with the facility, the attitudes and compassion shown by the personnel, and his overall care.

Posting for my lifelong friend David Weavel. November 2021 I suffered a massive stroke leading me to needing some acute rehab before I could even think about returning home. I was transferred to to Prince George from another facility and boy was that a great breathe of fresh air to say the least. My experience with the first facility was terrible! The entire process of Prince George from getting me transferred to discharging me home was so amazing! I will never forget the outstanding care and dedication of the staff at Prince George. The therapy department at PG had me up and walking in days where my previous establishment I was at for 3 months bearly even got me out of the bed. I am so impressed at their work. The staff there was so professional, friendly, helpful and caring from every department in this place. The facility itself is very clean with the workers being so nice. The food served was very good to my tasting. Everyone in PG showed me that they really care about their patients and family members. I absolutely recommend anyone that needs help to seek out Prince George in Georgetown, SC. I am now home and doing well and getting stronger each day and I owe all my thanks and gratitude to the wonderful people at Prince George HealthCare Center!

The staff seems to be nice, however, my friend informed me of a bed sore that had not been attended to while we were there. The nurses came quite quickly when I went to the desk to tell them. I have to ask how long would she have sat there in pain if I had not gone to the desk? Its also very dated & needs a "make-over". So, its not terrible but its not great. I also noticed that her nails had been done the last 2 times we have visited. Thats kind of a nice touch I guess.
