This was the 2nd ER in 24 hrs. 1st ghetto ER (CHHP)was ghetto so I thought to go to PIH because they used to take care of anyone AND I had my daughter at PIH. If they see medicaid or like me having tremors, they all assumed i was on drugs. Labs came out negative n they wouldn''t treat me for pain and essential tremors/convulsions. Malpractice time??? Hmmm I think so why not, right? Signed myself out and getting more tremors n neurological issues, still. Trust your gut people. No longer a decent hospital. 😭😭😭

I just brought my 4 year old daughter to their ED and we were directed to wait outside since she’s coughing and having fevers off and on. We were waiting for almost two hours until I noticed that she was being munched on by mosquitoes (she’s one of the mosquito faves) so I asked one of the staff if we can wait inside and she said no since she is rule out covid. First, she just had covid, there is a slight chance of her getting it again. Second, she has ear infection because of ear discharges. I asked one of the staff if I can speak to the charge nurse as I am also an RN, I might talk her into possible options. Leslie Delgado, RN is the charge nurse and she came out to the lobby and took a microphone and announced that “I cannot control the weather,” “we have 3 to 5 hour wait time,” and “you can wait in your car and leave your number to the front desk” then went back in. The audacity of this RN! She never even came outside to talk to the people outside waiting! This is the last straw so we left and went to smaller Whittier community hospital and were seen in under 2 hours and were treated with care and respect. They were good with my daughter. Her ear infection is getting better. Now back to PIH. This is not the only time they shone their failures.. less than a month ago, I took my mom here and they misdiagnosed her. They made my mom’s condition a lot worse. Had we not question the treatment course, my mom would’ve gotten in big trouble. I was also a patient here once when i gave birth and the nurse did not show up in my room not until 9pm when it was time to give medications. Again, as a nurse, this is not how we are trained and saw this as a disappointment. So much for having “Patients First” as their hospital theme. It’s probably really “Profits First”. Now go buy another another financially-in-dire-hospital and spread your 1 star care level. I work at a level 1 trauma hospital and we don’t even have people outside waiting.

They left my mom soiled for long periods of time. We would change mom''s soiled diapers. My sister and I would take turns staying all day so that we could make sure her needs were met. Took forever for the nurse to come after called. Called ahead so grand kids could see grandma who is terminal and the main number receptionist said she would allow kids to visit for that reason. Get there to find out it''s up to the head nurse. Nurse grouch would not make any exceptions. There was a fire drill. They closed doors for 1 hour and we couldn''t get a nurse in to help. Didn''t even announce when the drill was over. Doctor kept giving opinion without actual test results. Terrible place!
