Ponderosa Lodge Senior Living was clean and friendly. It was easy for the seniors to go from place to place, and they had the help they needed. As far as I'm concerned, they could always use a few more employees. But those that I saw were working. They had a nice outdoor space, but not huge. Indoors, they had nice seating areas where they could relax and watch TV. There was another area where they could play cards and things like that.

I toured Ponderosa Lodge Senior Living. All they did was take me to the second floor and showed me a room. It was not just a room, it was a two-bedroom, a front room, a small kitchenette, and your own private little walk-out deck, and it was very, very nice. Whoever I talked to when I called, I asked them, 'Do they take dementia patients? Can they handle somebody with dementia?' And I was told, yes, but when I got there, I was told they were wrong. I wouldn't have bothered to even go there had I known that because I need a place that can take dementia or Alzheimer's patients. It's very nice and very clean. The staff who gave the tour was a very nice young girl. We got on the elevator and went up to the second floor and went into a room that they keep to show the people what the rooms are going to look like. It was very clean. It's two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. And you could make some meals there because there is a stove, a refrigerator, and cupboards. It's a nice place. The surroundings were very nice. Everything was neat, clean, and orderly. However, whoever answers the phone better get it into their head that they don't take dementia and Alzheimer's patients because I wasted my time. I wouldn't have gone there if I had known that. But it's still a very nice place from what I've seen.

They have a bus where they can take them places, and that would have been convenient for my sister to do that. They didn't have to eat the meals. They could take them from downstairs, get a tray and take them up to their apartment if they wanted to, which was nice. We were just kind of looking at the apartment and the amenities that it had inside, and it would have been convenient. There's a hospital just down the street, and there are a couple of restaurants. There's a mall, Target, and Walmart. It's right in a good neighborhood.

We visited Ponderosa Lodge Senior Living and will probably pick that for my mother. They had a lot of amenities. The facility was very clean. The residents seemed to like it very much. The food is apparently quite good also. We didn't try the food, but we saw the menu and talked to the chef. We talked to some of the residents that have been there for a while. They have a nursing station. They handle the level of care up to anything short of a nursing home. The rooms we saw were spacious and very clean. They were not furnished, but quite nice with large closets. They were bright and well-maintained. They were a little bit dated in some areas right now, but the staff told us that they're currently undergoing a renovation. They were very clean, and they are being upgraded right now.

The kitchenettes were zero, and the one-bedroom apartments were too small. As far as amenities, their assisted living is nice with transportation, and I like that. The staff who gave me the tour was great. There were no areas that need to improve on. It was just the fact that it was not the kind of living that I would like. It just didn't appeal to me. However, they offer transportation, meals, cleaning, and activities.

The best thing about my tour at Ponderosa Lodge Senior Living was the lady that gave us the tour. She seemed like she cared, and going through the hallway, she knew people by their first names, so I thought that was encouraging. The rooms that we toured looked nice, big, and clean. And it sounded like they were going to do some remodeling in the common areas like there's a new chapel and they move some things around. It sounded like they're caring about their residents. However, there wasn't much parking for visitors. It was lunchtime, so people were coming in for lunch and sitting down and being fed. There was a sign saying that there was going to be bingo in the afternoon, so I didn't observe any activities, but we met with the activity director, and she was very nice.
