My complaint is that nursing home staff are slow to respond to the needs of the residents in their care. Residents may be left in bed despite repeatedly pushing their call buttons, left in the dining hall for an extended length of time after meals, or ignored when placing a call for help. Your loved one may not like having to do things on a set schedule. This can include eating, showering, getting dressed and taking part in specific activities But there at Phoebe they Force them to! It’s so sad PLEASE RECONSIDER, FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION, OR WORKING HERE!! Just Don’t !!!

Care of a loved one: There were staff that tried to give humane and appropriate care but the following occurred: Staff refusal to wear masks during the height of the pandemic and continued there after in violation of government & facility regulations. Multiple lockdowns. Received a phone call to report that nurse administered the wrong medication putting loved one at risk. Medications not given on time causing excruciating pain Nurse suspended for abusive behavior Additional staff reprimanded for rudeness Broken beds throughout Broken bed that automatically raised the lower end all the way up so that my loved one’s legs were above her head. Staff commented that this was a known issue and nothing would be done about it. Staff argued and attempted to block loved one from going to the hospital, stating that she was evaluated and it wasn’t necessary. Family advocacy got her released and into the hospital where infections were treated. She remained there for a week Supervisor stated that the hospital wasn’t necessary and loved one would be back that same evening. Disappointing & heartbreaking to witness.

By bunching them into one score is not a true reflection of the facility. Your score may indicate an overall rating of a 4, this may not be the case in the area you are looking to go or send a loved one to stay. Do your research, visit the facility, and talk to family members of patients and residents before making a decision based on the ratings score.
