Pecan Point is far above every other place that I looked at. My mom had to go from Assisted Living to Memory Care. Both experiences have been phenomenal. The staff made the transition to Memory Care easy for both my mom and myself. They are great at keeping me in the loop with any changes. I started out going every other day to visit, and now twice a week. Knowing if there are any problems they will phone me allows me to make the 40 minute drive one way just twice a week. I am very comfortable with their care. The meals are good, with choices for breakfast. Even in Memory Care, there are table cloths and linen napkins. It feels more like a restaurant and dining with friends. I would absolutely recommend Pecan Point Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Do NOT put your loved ones (LO) here in Pecan Point (PP). Poorly run. My LO vacated building 2 months ago and STILL has not received refund check ("float"). They wanted to move my LO from Assisted Living (AL) to Memory Care (MC) on Day 7. And wanted it done in the next 3 to 6 days. I had just moved my LO in there, and they wanted to move him again. They never replied as to whether they would have their maintenance man move him for free. Same maintenance man "reminded" me and the movers not to remove the microwave and small fridge. DUH on move-out day. Just because they had someone do that before supposedly does NOT make us thieves as well. NOTE: PP charges extra for everything, $7 here, $250 there. Plus the move from AL to MC seemed like punishment (especially from my LO's point of view), moving my LO from the 40-person residence with a piano, eating with those 40 people, sharing a patio area with those 40 people, to the MC side with its 4 people and eating with them and having its own patio, plus no piano. By Day 9, PP Nurse stated they would reconsider MC again on my LO's Day 30 there. But my LO moved out before that because more was going on. On Day 9 they were not using special BP machine at all, since Day 1, required by heart doc to have 3 BP readings a day, transmitted by special BP machine. I told both PP Nurse and PP Admin of this at a "closing" meeting. I sent at least 3 reminders of this via PP Nurse email. Still they could not do what they stated they would (on many levels). On Day 10, a Friday, at 4:39 p.m., they were down to ONE heart pill, calling me to travel 49 miles to the pharmacy, when they were 2.9 miles from same pharmacy. The caller tried to guilt me into this, saying, "You don't want your loved one to run out of heart pills, now do you?" HOW DARE SHE SAY THAT. PP was in charge of meds mgmt. They failed to count my LO's pills over the first 10 days there? PP caused the problem. PP should have hired a courier to go pick up the pills they were so cavalier about. And heart pills are to be taken AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY. PP should have sent the PR person to pick up the pills. On top of the heart meds, PP had ordered 2 other prescriptions as well. PP FAILED TO DO ITS JOB and was playing mind games with me. Shame on them. They have in-house communication problems (ask PR lady and PP's Nurse, who seem to have a history of this). They have a PP Nurse email address that does not always answer emails (PP Admin suggested calling instead). While nice people do work there, PP's procedures (or lack thereof) are lacking. Laundry lost one set of navy sheets for my LO's full bed, which I never found, had to repurchase. Imagine doing that every month. SMH. One day my LO looked like he had been dressed from the Lost & Found bin (at best, a laundry mix-up; at worst? I don't want to go there). DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES in this Pecan Point facility. I'm reporting them to the various authorities (See 40 TAC Sec. 92.11). Now my LO is in a wonderful place, where they go beyond just what they say they will do. My LO has acclimated well, and I can breathe a sigh of relief that he is in good hands now. The added stress that PP placed on me was not what I expected from a place that was supposed to relieve me of my meds management duties and those 3 BP readings a day, while I have my own full-time job to attend to as well. Thankfully PP is no longer in our lives. With the exception of my emails to remind them to SEND THE REFUND CHECK ALREADY.

I like the facility in general, it's a cozy building and a smaller community. We picked this community, because of the price compared to value, and it was one of the closet locations to my home. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

Pecan Point Assisted Living and Memory Care was a very nice place. They have lots of activities, which I've seen going on when I was there, and there's a lot of involvement. I know my mother would be interested in it. The rooms were spacious. Their price was comparable. The social worker I visited with and all the staff I met there were very friendly. They have an onsite culinary chef (who was also a dietitian), and if you don't like what's on the menu, they'll make anything you want. That's a plus. They have an enclosed courtyard that was beautiful as well.
