I put one star because my interactions with my brother''s nurses have been pleasant. However, he still has skin cancer. They have tried to bill me for charges that are not my responsibility. Be careful with your loved ones. Pleasant nurses do not necessarily mean good care is being given.

As an agency nurse i have accommodated phc and filled in at last minute and even many nights worked in very risky situations where the entire facilty only had 2 CNAs to cover all residents....recently the current DON reported to my agency that I would not need to return d/t a patient complaint and recorded me refusing to feed the patient....the patient placed the call light on many times as this patient routinely does and I was the one to answer those call lights as the CNAs were answering others and getting other pts ready for bed ...the patient stated to me the aids refused to give him a meal tray for dinner both aids informed me the patient refused the tray and refused to eat because the aids would not remove the chewing tobacco from the patients mouth which the patient demonstrates frequently being able to place the tobacco in their mouth without difficulty and the aids respectfully informed the patient along with my presence that the patient could remove the chewy tobacco by spitting it in a cup which was in grasp ...the patient refused the meal tray at that time while I was present with CNA turnaround 7pm the patient then placed the call light on two other times and made request to CNA to feed the patient fruitloops...during reports I have never been informed if this pt needed help feeding as they never requested to be fed previously...both CNAs that were with me last night informed me that the patient makes them very uncomfortable and they feel as if the patient is trying to be perverse...while the CNA was feeding the pt fruitloops I did observe very evident behavior from the patient that could definitely make anyone feel uncomfortable I then informed the patienttheydid not need to refuse the meal tray and should have requested something else to eat to feed him more timely or when we had been in the room several other occasions...aparently the patient was able to grasp not only the dip cup for the tobacco but al the patient could grasp a cell phone and record us and the other pt that shared a room with this particular pt.... I asked the pt not to record as it was not protective to the other pts rights ...I feel the DON should have researched and interviewed everyone instead of trusting a pt who frequently calls 911 if thelight is not answered soon enough...even with other staff members.... the amount of care the patient received was nearly every request they made with the exception of removing and placing chewing tobacco in the patients mouth even offering assistance to feed the meal tray twice prior to the patient being fed fruitloops as well as the CNA holding the tobacco spit cup for the pt at one point ...we all know devices such as cell phones have video enablers that allow for editing and removing content ...this pt was ultimately cared for and fed yet this agency nurse was found at fault but all care needs were met with dignity ...this is why nursing is suffering they are expected to take any patient treatment perverse or otherwise with no Avenue of help themselves when its reported ...I then met with the DON explained everything that transpired and she quickly hurried me from her office ...pt care suffers dt lack of staff and abusive patients,...the nursing field does not need nursing leadership tobase their judgement around assumption ...

Great people who really KNOW each resident''s needs. My mother tried Athens South Place and within 3 weeks we returned her to Palestine Health Care. Palestine HC does not drug its residents in attempt to manage dementia residents'' movement/ramblings. These nurses know how to work with and re direct dementia patients in a proper manner with respect and dignity. Caring people loving the elderly.

I love my home
My father-in-law was there for 14 days. The care was sub-standard. No one would return phone calls. When my mother-in-law picked him up and got him home, most of his clothes are missing and no one that works there can tell her what happened to them. Don’t know that I could recommend this place!
