From US News review: “ Accolade Healthcare of Danville in Danville, IL has a short-term rehabilitation rating of Average and a long-term care rating of Below Average.” Below average sums it up. My 92 yr-old mother-in-law spent less than a month there in long term care, before we moved heaven and earth to transfer her to a new place. We found the place to be indifferently managed, indifferently staffed, non-ADA compliant, and except for the Admissions Director, no one was willing or able to remedy the poor care she received: twice they forgot to bring her dinner, the promised twice-weekly showers rarely happened, clothes were not laundered and/or were placed in her roommates closet! We have written to the owner with out concerns and also sent copies to various oversight organizations. It is appalling that seniors must endure such treatment.

Awesome organization. Never cuts corners and always strives for perfection while only accepting of excellence!!!
Family feel facility with a friendly staff.
Hard to talk to patients that are there, can’t ever get anyway to answer the door or phone, real Mickey Mouse place, very disappointed in this place

Helping make the decision to send a loved one to a nursing home is one of the most stressful situations I’ve ever encountered, and this comes from a 16-year veteran police officer. I’ve witnessed the conditions of private nursing homes, so I found myself intentionally mapping my daily runs to “scope out” Accolade from the outside since COVID prevented me from a tour. After several phone calls and texts with Brittany from Admin, I began feeling slight relief. Yet, it wasn’t until she extended her daily shift to visit my 90-yo Grandmother at my father’s house for a face to face consultation that my fears came to a halt. Brittany knew transporting my Grandmother to Accolade greatly increased her anxiety. She was patient with Grandma’s dementia and repetitive questions, in addition to my own personal questions based on experience. Brittany kept in touch throughout the admission process, got approval for a reclining chair to be placed in her room, and made arrangements to be present when we dropped off Grandma. Since her first day, staff has gone above and beyond to make sure our family stays connected with Grandma. In fact, when she received flowers before enrolled in extracurricular activities, Tim, the activity coordinator, reached out to family to find her room and even sent pics of the flowers! Last, but certainly not least, I’d like to recognize Gale (apologize if this is the incorrect spelling), who has been my Grandmother’s primary nurse since her arrival. She has the patience of a Saint, provides updates about Grandma’s condition and future plans for treatment with the consent of Grandma, of course. It took a simple text to Brittany today to inquire about how many staff members are on Grandma’s floor, so I could arrange cake delivery to celebrate her 91st birthday. Not only did I get my answer, she also offered to schedule a Zoom session with family! For all of these reasons, my family and I highly recommend Accolade for you or a loved one. I anticipate many more positive stories!
