never never NEVER have a family member put here in hospice care. The staff do not listen or understand what hospice care means. The director Shawn will nod like he cares and then tell you he''s too busy to take care of the problem. My grandmother would be better off at home with US taking care of her because WE listen to her yell and know when she''s in pain and are not afraid to give the breakthru pain medication that''s been ordered for her when she needs it. The staff this past day have been atrocious and even slammed the door in my mom''s face. Maybe one day someone will sue them out of business and the world will be a better place.

My advise for going to any rehab place or being transferred from one medical facility to another would be to call and make sure the place your going to has got all your meds and everything you need before going. I had to wait a day and all night before getting my meds. When you need a nurse or staff, be prepared to wait. My roommate and I would time them and we have actually waited a whole hour before someone would come. They are understaffed and the wait time is awful! The staff are very friendly once you get what you need, well, there are some that could take a course in manner''s and how to treat people. Just do your homework on your own. Don''t trust anyone.

I recommend avoiding with all the resistance you can exert having your loved ones placed in NHC Oak Ridge. This so called care facility severally neglects care of its patients. My mother, who had hip surgery, has been locked there in quarantine because of COVID-19 for 10 days now. My mother has been treated worse than an animal! The attendants have refused to assist her to the restroom causing her to lay in her own feces and urine. Just tonight she was told she could not wear her depends to bed, that she could use the bathroom on the pad in her bed. Even though my mother is 95, she is still in her right mind, and cannot believe how rude and neglected she has been treated from the nightly CNA''s. The telephone at the nurses station goes unanswered when I call and because of COVID-19 entry is not allowed to determine her condition. My only correspondence with her is through her cell phone. I have not heard from a nurse or doctor since she has been there. The lack of care, attitude and neglect experienced at this facility is an obvious result of mismanagement.
