My Mother had chosen this facility due to previous experience with them of people she had known who had been there. Granted the staff had changed and the Covid-19 boondoggle took over but within the first 30 days of being a resident at Nelson Manor, she started complaining the care was harsh and lacking the attention she needed to maintain a semi happy environment. Mom was shaky and had trouble with hand coordination so out of the 118 days there she had use of here hearing aids like maybe 30 days. The aids would snap at her and make her uncomfortable if she asked for anything to be done, like installing the batteries in her hearing aids, so she became hard to communicate with because of her hearing.(we could only talk over the phone due to the lockouts) If you check their ratings online you will see they are rated very high for drugging the patients with anti-anxiety and hypnotic chemicals to maintain their patients, there were more than just a few times I knew Mother was far from normal and could barely speak. At this time, I would not recommend this nursing care facility for your pet let alone your family member. The office is in turmoil and it''s hard to speak to anyone who seems to know who''s in charge. I''ve never dealt with such an inept business as Nelson Manor nursing home, you would think they would want to be paid and settle their accounts.. Mother died in their care under suspicious circumstances after returning from the local hospital one day before. 10/04/2020 They will be an investigation coming...
