I am a former employee, and the way directors treat emploees is garbage. I was so good at my job, and so great with residents, co-workers, and family members! I was always available and reliable, and would even help other departments anythime they needed extra help.We wwere always short staffed, and I would always volunteer to stay late and help our team/ THERE WAS ZERO APPRECIATION. My boss ( Sandy ) the director of activities was absolutely terrible. She spoke down to all of the caregivers, and treatd me like i was nothing. If you pop in and ask any caregiver about the way she speaks to anyone not in managment, they would happily verify her cruel attitude. My boss was rude, and made sure I felt like nothing on our team. She was a very jealous, angry and miserable woman. We lost several incredible team members due to her negligence toward our staff, and even when others reported her, nothing was done. I loved our residents and their family members so much, I had the most difficult time making the decision to leave. I provided plenty of time upon giving my notice, and even stayed longer, pushing back the start date at my new job, to ensure they were set up with time to find someone to replace me. I feel they took advantage. Due to certain staff being friends, it made it hard to even bring up frustrartions about the mistreatment. Sandy, made snarky comments about me dressing inappropriate and promiscuous, and would make mean and rude comments constantly. It then became a joke during a life enrichment meeting we had, and it was so uncalled for, and so inappropriate. How can someone like her think she has the right to speak to anyone like this??? Her ways of treating me felt inhumane at times........ and to think this lind of person is being left in a position of power? Having covid, her replies to me being sick, and wannting to go home were disgusting. I will find a way to post her selfish and hateful remarks, and i will add them to this review. I got covid from caring for our residents when we had a bad outbreak. No one wanted to work, so I stepped up again and again, eventually getting sick myself. There was one director I felt comfirtable speaking with, but even that would only go so far. I decided to quit in activities, but had asked to stay PRN in memory care, as a caregiver. I had spoke with the MC coordinator, and also the ED at one point and had the understanding I was oaky to stay as PRN! They lied about me stying on the team for care, sandy one day, found out I was staying in care, and that was then taken away from me. Johnny and Cheryl wre two other employees who loved the residents so much, and ended up leaving due to Sandy ( activities director) treated us. I would be more than happy to provide theor contact info for a statement or verification. I did everything the right way, worked hard, put my entire heart into my work, and gave notice to get out of my dept. the correct way! After leaving I reached out to continue visiting/ volunteering, and to get on the schedule for my PRN shifts, and I began getting the run around. As for volunteering and visits, I was told I had to come during buisness hours, when managment was in building, and no reply about being on the schedule. A while later, I was informed they already took me off the staff list, and that i was no longer registered as an employee. They refused to speak with me or worl with me on being allowed to continu working. They keep around thieves, drug addicts, and lazy employees who sit around doing nothing, but shut the door on someone who truly was passionate about her job, and those she cared for? It isn''t often you find a loving dedicated professional, so to turn on someone who brought so much to the team/ community/ residents is unfortunate and disturbing. I have already called the CEO''s wife personally, They need to boot sandy from that position, & GIVE it TO CHRIS! He LOVES HIS JOB, THE RESIDENTS ON THE MOST GENUINE LEVEL. THERE IS NOT A THING CHRIS WOULDN''T DO FOR HIS CO-WORKERS, AND FOR ANY OF THE RESIDENTS !

My mom is currently a resident at MorningStar in their assisted living facility. This is a small facility with a terrific staff. I love that I recognize most of the staff when I visit and that they recognize me! This is exactly the "home" that my sister and I envisioned for my mom when we knew that an assisted living facility was in her future. The staff is very knowledgeable in senior issues, which was very important to our family, but they are also so very caring and compassionate--my guess is that having both an empathy for the residents and a thorough knowledge of senior issues may be somewhat of an anomaly. My mom entered Morningstar during the Covid 19 crisis. Altough visitation is limited, certainly not Morningstar's fault, the staff has accommodated our many requests to the best of their ability. With regard to the facility itself, it is very well kept and doesn't look like an assisted living facility, something that appealed to our family. My mom's "apartment" is quite nice, with high ceilings and a large, bright bay window. There are many activities available to the residents and too many amenities to name here--see their website! Thanks Morningstar and staff for a great home for my mom!

We have been fortunate to have Mom at MorningStar at Littleton since November of 2018. For the first 18 months she lived on the Assisted Living side and most recently has transitioned to the Memory Care Unit. This place is great for so many reasons! Let’s start with the layout. The place feels like a home, not a dorm or your standard senior living facility. The facility is set up so that there are numerous places to sit and visit, both inside and outside. There a numerous activities and outings for residents to involve themselves as well. But by far, the most important component is the people. The staff are caring, compassionate and committed. There is overlap between the AL and Memory Care side so that residents maintain relationships. Although my preference would be for Mom to be able to live independently this is just not in the cards as they say. MorningStar at Littleton is as good an option as there could be in our opinion. Thank you!
