My loved one was a resident at Miller Farm Place. Our experience with this facility was great. They were awesome to work with and my loved one's last days here were full of quality and dignity. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

I moved into Miller Farm Place. It has been great. The employees are very helpful, and the communication is good. I bought a bed and actually, they put it together for me. One reason I came here is that they do accept cats. I have a cat, and they do not charge for the cats, while almost every place else charges for cats. I got the smallest apartment, but there's room for a queen-sized bed. I chose to get a full-size bed instead. It has one window looking out over the backyard, a good-sized bathroom that I can turn around in, and an open shower, without the tub, and a very small kitchenette, but it has a refrigerator and microwave, so it's big enough for anything I would need because they provide all the meals. There's an area big enough for my recliner, TV, and a small kitchen-style table. It's adequate for my needs, for one person. The activities are great. I haven't been on an outing from here, but as I understand it, they do have outings to different things in the area. But here, just about once a week, we do some sort of crafts, and they have chair exercises that we do. We had a karaoke, one of the nurses performed, he sang different songs, and we could either sing along or just listen, or sing it ourselves. That was nice. They have bingo, cards, those types of things, and games and puzzles. They're very active about it. If they're going to have an activity and you aren't there, they come and knock on the door and ask if you want to come. So, they're very good. The activities director is great. So far, almost all of the meals have been great and they're hot. There's a cook on site that does the cooking there. It's not food that's made, frozen, and brought in. They have fruits every day, at least once a day, and they have plenty of vegetables. The food's good, and it's seasoned well. I'm very pleased with the food. Everything is well maintained, and housekeeping does a great job. I'm just very pleased with it. It's in a nice area, and the facility is great. Also, it's not too big, It's only got like 45 residents, so it's not as big as some of the others were.
Read moreThe care received is great, I the nurses and staff are wonderful. That is why I decided to take my Dad there. The facility needs to be updated for what the cost is. My experience has definitely been overwhelming, this was a very hard decision for me. I would recommend them.

1. When the dining room is unusable they pick up fast food for the residents with no care or concern for dietary restrictions. 2. Mom was there less than 2 months and her belongings started disappearing immediately--even though her name was on them. When we moved her out at least half of her clothes-- which were new--had disappeared. Also many other belongings. 3. Her apartment and bathroom were always dirty. 4. One of the outlets in her room was extremely loose and a shock/fire hazard. 5. My mother had at least 5 "falls" in less than a month. I was told they were only reporting one to the state. I asked that my mother be able to use a walker to strengthen her legs--which were fine when she first got there. The director agreed with me but was told "absolutely not" by the head nurse. The started confining her to only her bed when in her room or if she was awake she had to be in her wheelchair in the common areas. I was completely against this. This aggravated Mom's adema and she gained 25 lbs of water weight in 3 weeks. 6. After they further disabled her by restraining her they then back-dated a care plan and raised her fees. 7. Between the hospice nurse and Miller Farm staff my mother was supposed to be bathed twice a week--this just was NOT happening. 8. The hospice nurse decided, when the facility doctor was on vacation, to administer a prescription drug to my mother. She got the hospice nurse practitioner to sign off on it--without ever seeing my mom. This caused my mother to gain another 10 lbs in 3 days. No one at the facility was monitoring or weighing her during this. When the doctor returned, she was furious that they had done this. It was at this point we had to put mom in the hospital, fire the hospice--that came "highly recommended" by Miller Farm, and move her out. But not before they made her pay an astronomical amount of money for care/rent. The director, [name removed], said he refund/settle up etc and I asked him to put it in writing. He was too busy and then never did. I called the parent company, Enlivant, in Chicago. My mother was out on [date removed]; today is March 27th 2023 and I am still waiting for the refund and compensation for so many of her things they lost or stole. Her time there shortened her life significantly and she passed less than a month from moving out.
Read moreMy loved one does not like the food. There has been issues with the medication, and food. For the amount of money, that is being paid, the food could be a better quality. They could be more careful, and observant with orders given by the doctor, and the medication.
My mom is happy here and that is all that matters!
