Being a new CNA, and the youngest one in the facility, it was definitely hard getting used to this job when I started 6 months ago. Every facility has their own issues and is understaffed, but with our new management, they''re constantly trying to make this place better &are constantly hiring new people. The residents I care for, are family to me and I treat them as so. Everyone here really does their best to care for and engage with the residents. 3 stars for- Pay is horrible for as hard as we work. 1 bath aide for everyone. Few employees and majority of agency workers are disrespectful and lazy. Often feel under appreciated with high expectations. The only reason I am staying here is for the residents.

Please bath your clients. It should be a standard of care no one has to be ask for.
They have a nurse named Nicole works second shift she''s the greatest she seems to be the only one that generally cares about the residence

I have worked here for a year and a half. Let’s be honest... nursing homes ALL have their problems. No one will ever take care of your family like you. This building has employees that have been here for 20+ years.. But it also has young, open-minded employees. This combination makes a great “open door policy” possible. Unfortunately, there are many elderly folks that need care and have ‘histories’ or no families. Meridian RHCC is home to MANY of those residents. WE ARE THEIR FAMILY!! Many of our staff members use their own money to purchase things for our residents just to put a smile on their face! I always encourage inquiring families to find a nursing home that FEELS right. Not based on looks or reviews etc... But if you FEEL like you can address a facility with concerns or questions and get a resolution, then that is the one you should use!

Honestly a lot of the Admin staff is leaving and so are all the CNA''s I know who can. The administrator of the building doesn''t care about the staff and refuses to even out staffing. Thinks 1 CNA and 1 nurse is enough for an entire new dementia unit they''re putting in and cuts costs wherever they can. All the CNA''s I know have to chart off the clock because they''ve been reprimanded by admin for staying to do charting, and while that''s illegal no one wants to do anything about it because they''re scared they''ll lose their job. The nurses are great but have to do CMA work and Nurse work so they''re unable to help aids with almost anything. Frankly if you''re looking for a place to work I''d say this isn''t your best bet. I don''t think it''s a great long term fit and you won''t enjoy being treated like a disposable person. Work a double? Hours are cut anyway, so why bother? There''s not enough staff to give good customer service to patients and so the census is low.
