I would give this ER zero stars if possible. My boyfriend was hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat, had a broken nose, and a hole in his eardrum after a violent attack in our garage. Mark Scholtes II, the owner of Ground Up Construction in Dubuque Iowa, was the person who hit him. We went to ER where I notified the staff of all I knew at the time. My boyfriend was coherent, but not oriented at all due to the brain bleed. Not one single staff member thought it was important enough to notify the police. There was even a cop sitting in the ER when we arrived and not one person spoke with us about the incident. Jason was not able to make the decision to call police, and I was in shock and panic, especially when we learned of the brain bleed and that he was being taken by ambulance to Iowa City. I didnt even think of the police until we were back at home. We went back up to the ER for a different issue and inquired about when a cop would take our statements. Four days after the attack a rude police officer came up and completed a questionnaire as quickly as possible. When I called the HR dept of this hospital I was told it was my job to call the police. It''s an Iowa law that the ER notify the police if there is a violent assault with a weapon. This poor excuse for a caring hospital failed my boyfriend by their complete and total negligence. They should be cited for this.
Read moreFast admittance and quickly tested to evaluate my stroke symptoms. All doctors, nurses and therapists were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. All this contributed to my rapid recovery and I was released after two days of highly excellent and successful care. Kudos to everyone involved.
I went in to the ER and all they did is check me out and then sent me home with no medicine or anything very poor service
Sat in the waiting room for 4 hours, anytime I asked when I was going to be called back I basically got told I was not a emergency when my primary doctor told me to go into the ER.
