Memory Haven is a smaller community. We chose this place because my mom needs a hoister lift to help her get out of bed into a wheelchair which the other ones did not have. The staff is very friendly. The salesperson that helped us go through the whole process was very friendly and very knowledgeable and helped us with all our questions. They also have a golden retriever that comes with the nurses. They have single and double rooms. My mom's room has a big window, her own bedroom, bathroom, and a cable hook up. It's all flat and so you could roll a wheelchair directly into the bathroom, then into the shower. They got a nice dining room, too. She is diabetic and they are doing diabetic-type of meals for her. They have a separate living area with chairs, games, and activities. They have people that come in to do salon types of services as well. The facility is fairly new. Everything's really clean and they have a nice outdoor courtyard. They have one building that was built just a couple of years ago and the one my mom's in was built in 2014. Her building is a little older but everything is clean and looks nice and the people have been really nice to work with. The price is just on a little higher side.

My dad was there for 6 short months but it was the best decision we could have made. Moving my dad anywhere was a hard choice, but the staff at Memory Haven we very kind and patient with my entire family. Everytime we visited him he was clean, well dressed and happy. He may not have understood where he was, but he was happy. Everytime a staff member walked past him they would pat him on his head, or wave, or say Hi to him. The staff not only knew my dad, but loved him. In his last days, his nurses and care staff were wonderful. They checked on him every 15-30 minutes, made sure he was clean and comfortable. The family was able to come in one at a time and say our goodbyes. I want to mention Tori especially. She not only cared for my dad in the end, but also for us. I feel the staff loved my dad and was not just "taking care of" my dad. I can''t say enough wonderful things about this place.

My husband is in Memory Haven in Sumner. It's for people with dementia and Alzheimer's. It's got a wonderful layout and security, which is why I chose it. Before the COVID, I was allowed to go sit and eat with him if I wanted. Sometimes, I even help them serve the food and help with the patients. It was fun doing that but, of course, nobody goes in now. The staff is very dedicated to their job, they're wonderful and very caring people. The food is OK, but it's a bit bland for me. The facility is very clean and the layout is very nice. The residents have the opportunity to go when they're allowed out in their rooms. They have a little garden outside where they can go walk around, and it's also very nice. For activities, they don't do too much right now because the residents have to stay in their rooms. When they're allowed out, they do little things like tossing a balloon about and see who gets it, painting, coloring, and they do all kinds of little things. It's very expensive because my husband has to have everything. I hope it's a lot cheaper, but we get our money's worth.
