Melody Manor is more of a homey setting. It has a Victorian look to it, more like a home than like a motel or anything like that. Some of them have that motel-type look, but with this one, you got the old woodworking, winding staircase, and just a lot of detail in the old house restoration or whatever how they kept it. It's really pretty, but we didn't like it because of the stairs with my mom having blindness. It was good. They had nice rooms and a nice dining hall. They had people that would walk their residents up and down the stairs. They said they had a stairlift and all that, too, but I just wanted her to be able to come and go and be a little more mobile by herself. We talked with the owner-manager who is the only one we saw. We didn't see any of the other workers or anything. We saw some of the residents in the TV room, a few were scattered in their rooms and stuff. We didn't mingle along with anybody, and we went to her office. It's a fantastic facility. It was one of the ones I was considering. Its location is a quaint and quiet setback by the river. It's a very nice location. It's not busy, traffic-wise. It's close to a few eateries, and if you were mobile, you could walk or catch the bus because it comes right down through there. They have access to the bus and all that.
