WARNING: THIS PLACE KILLED MY DAD. He was sent there for rehabilitation after a stay in the hospital with pneumonia. He had a new feeding tube that was placed during the hospital stay as well. His tube became dislodged somehow and they pumped the liquid diet straight into his abdomen for multiple hours. It was literally running out of his side. He tried numerous times to tell them something was wrong. HE WROTE IT DOWN IN HIS NOTEBOOK. When they FINALLY took an x-ray, the doctor said yes it was dislodged but it wasn’t that big of a deal and they would take him back to CAMC first thing Monday morning to have it repaired (this was Sunday evening). Sometime around 3-4 am he was found dead in his room. Do you have any idea how painful it was to read my dad’s last words on a piece of notebook paper and know that they are the reason he’s gone? A place that was supposed to take better care of him than we were able to, and they killed him in THREE DAYS. They self admitted to being short-staffed and the weekend my dad was there there was only one nurse on his entire floor because two had quit. They accepted absolutely no responsibility for his death and were completely thoughtless and souless when they spoke to my mom that morning to tell her he had died. This place ruined my life and I hope nobody has to suffer the way my family has suffered at the hands of this absolute NIGHTMARE of a “care” facility.

Im turning them in for elder abuse. They have an lady who is allowed to just wonder unattended who steals. She stole her shoes, food and juice from her and nurses did nothing. They have active covid cases yet camc still sends elderly people here for rehabilitation, yet they have not done any sort of rehabilitation exercises since she got here 4 days ago. This place needs shut down.

My brother was very neglected while there. He was there for rehabilitation from an amputation, not to be stuck in a room and left there. He was never bathed or helped to bathe, his room was never cleaned, the commode was stopped up 4-5 days and up until he left. He had a bed sore never attended to. I seen patients from the nursing home section sitting out in the halls in wheelchairs slumped over, reeking of urine and on one visit, was left there for 4 hours!! My brother got to where he would ring for a bed pan ah hour before time just in case he needed it bc it took them as long as 90 minutes to answer his call light. At one point he was left on a bed pan for 30 minutes and it was stuck to his skin. I can’t tell you the things I witnessed and he told me about. When discharged his wife and son were left to put him in the vehicle in a snow storm. He ended up in the floorboard. His son went back in TWO times for help and finally a nice young male nurse came and helped pull him out of the floor and into the seat. One star bc I have to
