The staff and atmosphere is very welcoming, friendly, and truly feels like home. The staff is always willing to help and as a resident here, I would recommend this facility to anyone.
This is a review of the administration and the nurse. It becomes clear soon after admission that they will not listen and will not follow the law.

This is a review of the administration and the nurse. The other staff who actually work with residents are wonderful. However, soon after admission (and after they receive your money), the head administrator and head nurse treat residents disrespectfully. They will not listen to residents, family, or other professionals who work with the residents. They treat residents like children and will make biased assumptions about medical conditions. Apparently they have a crystal ball because they seem to think they know more than actual neurologists. Their rudeness makes residents afraid to ask for help. It is questionable that they follow MN state laws. Assessments are completed without listening to other professional staff and according to the whims of the nurse, therefore residents get charged for more than they need or are kicked out if that's what the administration wants. It's unfortunate because the food is good and the aides are very kind and helpful. If you are independent and don't have anything else to spend your money on, this is the place for you.

I met the activity director and also the lady that is in charge of the food. I found them both to be very pleasant and personable. All three people that I met were helpful, courteous, and polite. I found this facility to be very nice. They just remodeled not too long ago.

We toured Mankato Lodge Senior Living for ourselves. We liked the grounds there, it was nice and open. It was located up on the hilltop area. They're close to the main shopping area, so it's convenient. The 2-bedroom apartment we looked at was pretty large. They provided the meals for everybody, and we saw their dining room. It wasn't quite as opulent compared to other places, but it was nice. There seemed to be a lot of activities. A lot of the residents looked pretty involved in the activities. There were lots of people doing things when we walked around. The kitchen inside the apartment was functional. They had a microwave and a refrigerator. They had a garden outside, and they had nice raised beds for the residents' own gardening. The staff was really helpful. She had a dog with her who seems to be like the most popular guy in the whole facility.
