I would never put my loved one in Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. It was too far away for my loved one's friends to visit and it was awful. Every last bit. When you walk in, there's a hallway and people in wheelchairs are sitting there and have nothing to do. They weren't even talking to each other. That was the first one I went to. I had read really good reviews about it. I thought it would be like a home setting, but it was like these people were being warehoused. The person who toured me was one of the owners and she was strictly business. Not a warm fuzzy. It was a business transaction. That's how I felt. It was like buying a used car. The dining room was OK. They put names on each place. That I thought was kind of nice. It was relatively clean. The owner talked about a lot of land. I didn't see any of that, but it's privately owned so that's why I was looking forward to seeing it. They put a lot of money into it. The place is kept up, but it was just depressing going in there.

I like Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. They're the ones I chose for my friend. I like the atmosphere. I like the building. I like that it is small and not so institutional looking. If my son told me I had to choose one, that's the one I would choose for myself. My friend has just moved in, so I don't have a lot of interaction with the staff, but they're pleasant enough. They have big rooms with big, beautiful bathrooms. They have a nice closet and a nice little sink area. It reminds me of a hotel room. You walk in, and it's just like a hotel room. They have activities. As a matter of fact, every Friday is happy hour, and my friend wants me to go with her. We go in the cafeteria hall, which is a nice, pleasant hall with a fireplace in it, so it's going to look beautiful at Christmas. They have happy hour, and they serve real alcohol. They have a karaoke person that kind of does a little bit of live music for them for an hour and a half. Plus, my friend goes to the beauty parlor, and she gets to go outside to the deck and get fresh air and watch the birds. I like the activities, because once in a while they'll take them to WalMart. They take them out on a bus, like to the Dollar Store. One of the big wins for my friend is that they were the only ones that accepted Medicaid for help.

I only have good things to say about Magnolia Manor in Lutz, FL. The staff, the facility, and the folks who come in to provide entertainment and support are absolutely the BEST! I transferred my elderly sister to Magnolia Manor after a very bad experience at another facility. Unfortunately, she was only at Magnolia for about a month before passing, but I truly believe she was given the care that far exceeded the other Assisted Living Facility had given her in the past year. The staff there are so gracious and caring while working very hard in all efforts to provide excellent general support things, hygiene care and to provide a very safe and happy environment. When my sister started failing the care was beyond my expectations. The owner, [name removed], and Care Coordinator, [name removed] were so helpful in walking me through what needed to be done during this very difficult time. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a facility in the Tampa Bay area.
Read moreOur tour at Magnolia Manor was fine. The people seemed very kind. Cleanliness was not as great as the palace we chose, and the location was not as convenient for our family. Also, the parking area was small, and the facility was not as modern.
They have been amazing. Everybody is so friendly. They just remodeled, so everything is super on top. Everything is perfect. All the rooms are gorgeous. The staff have been amazing. I haven't tried the food, but it smells great. There are all sorts of activities - chair yoga, chair exercises...

I haven't tried the food, but it smells great. There are all sorts of activities - chair yoga, chair exercises, bingo, sing-alongs, arts and crafts. When they were on lockdown and closed down, they even took the residents out for rides.
Read moreMy mother is very happy at Magnolia Manor. She never thought she would be...but she loves it here. I am so relieved to have the help and good care and not feel alone in her caregiving. Best thing to happen for us both!
