The physical therapy team will work extremely well. They were better than me then the other staff there. Tray and kelsey were fantastic. They were above and beyond to help me. Even help me wash my hair.
The therapy is great but the nursing needs to go back to school and relearn what they think they know, MY brother was there and wasn''t taken care off and was sent to the Er and now back in the hospital would not send anyone or a animal there at all
My uncle was released from the hospital and they rolled him halfway into the room, didn''t put his oxygen on him, put him in the bed, and no one came back for 4 hours. His legs were bleeding and not propped up like the Dr ordered. He was nowhere near the call button and couldn''t even reach his food...

They''re getting reported to the ombudsman.

where do I begin? The negligence in this place is at its all time high. My mom has an advocate which is myself. I really feel sorry for the other resident that doesn’t have anyone to be their voice. Dr. written orders are not followed. My mother has a written order from her Physician to wear continuous oxygen 24/7, and BiPap anytime she sleeps! Nursing staff failed to administer her any oxygen, on Christmas Eve, The reason being ,The facility was out of humidifier bottles (make it make sense), leaving her with an 02 level at 57%! My question was, where was the intervention when something like this happens, is there not a back up? I got a call from LifeCare at 4 AM on January 22, 2024 that my mother was being sent out to the ER because she was wheezing coughing and short of breath! My mother was treated at the emergency room department For RSV it’s a respiratory virus She was discharged back to the nursing home Around 11 AM that morning, She was assigned a private room for isolation purposes, which I totally understand and I agree with that The problem was when I got off work and I went to check on my mom At 10:50 PM she had been without her oxygen once again The nurse that was taking care of her had not assessed her. She knew nothing about my mom. She failed to even administer her BiPAP machine because she told me it was left in her. other room, and it needed to be cleaned I asked her can she please please come check my mom’s oxygen level since she was off her oxygen for such a long period of time, She was trying to justify herself by saying that was the prior shifts fault that she was off her oxygen So this went from worse to worse because she had been on duty since 6 PM and now it’s 11 PM! The CNA and med tech went down to check my mom’s oxygen, It was at 79% I told the nurse what it was and could she please come and assess my mom. She FINALLY got up from behind the desk! I told her if my mom’s O2 level had not come back up in 10 minutes I wanted her to be sent back out to the ER, Which she did have to be sent back out Because of her low O2 level! My mom is a CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)patient, she was admitted this time, because her heart rhythm went into AFIB rhythm (rapid heart rate) I feel this was from the respiratory distress of neglecting to put my mother’s oxygen on her! I have been working with administration and nursing staff for months now And it feels as if it’s going from worse to worse, No one is held accountable! I am not naïve to the fact that there are good workers out there that does take care of the resident but with all the bad that my mom has experienced it’s hard to see the good it seems like the bad outweighs the good right now and that should be the case in any situation! If Your loved one needs to go to a long-term care facility I do not recommend LifeCare care center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri! If anyone has had a loved one that Has passed away there and they had respiratory health conditions I first send you my condolences, and second of all please don’t let it rest look into it Because the same thing that happened to My mom (neglected of her oxygen, and BiPap) May have happened to your loved one as well, So don’t let it rest if this is what happened to your loved loved one hold them account! There is so much more that my mom is going through at that facility but I feel that I’ve shared enough, To give you a change of mind if this is a place you’re looking to place your loved one! If I could bring my mom home to take care of her, this is exactly where she would be. She has a community of friends (other residents) at LifeCare and she loves their physical therapy, and their weekly activities, so she doesn’t want to leave. My mom is alert and oriented. She is in her right state of mind, so just imagine what the residence that is not able to communicate for themselves goes through!I hope this brings awareness to someone, That may have a loved one there or that may have A loved one that passed away there!
