I would recommend Legacy Village to other families. Yes we toured several other communities.

I have told everyone whom I came in contact with that I thought might need the services of A Place for Mom how wonderful it is. I was amazed they were so kind so efficient so knowledgeable and I couldn't have found a place for my mom without them. The young man, [name removed] who they put me in contact with was absolutely amazing. It's like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders once I talked to him and he took over and told me exactly what I needed to do.

I'm in Main Street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The nurses are great. The meals are medium. They only take you to a doctor on Tuesdays on their bus; otherwise, you get there some other way. The food some days is very good. Other days, they will have menus that you have to ask them, "What is this?" It's a la carte and you're not always sure of what really it is. You have to ask what they serve. We have an activities director who's very good, and she offers exercises. You can play games, you can do puzzles and handcrafts, and sometimes they will take you on a scenic tour of the city. They have a church service on Sunday afternoon, and they have a beauty shop. Right now, the beautician has stopped coming and they have a new one, but she will set up whatever time she can come and do it, and that's a little inconvenient. The building is old; it was built about 29 years ago. Value for the money is very good.
Read moreI liked the Main Street in Hendersonville because the memory care was smaller and it seemed like more of a family atmosphere and less like a hospital. The staff who assisted us was very nice and she knew a lot about the place. I will give her a high rating. The facility is very clean.

Main Street seemed super dark, but it looked like it was very well staffed. I just came at such an unfair time to do a tour. I didn't feel like I would be getting a good tour because I came right before supper, and the residents were getting grouchy because they were really hungry. The lady that gave me the tour was kind of sick that day and she could barely breathe. I did not stay long because it looked miserable. However, I think their staff were really good and the residents looked well cared for. The place looked clean. I think it would be a good place but I just didn't go back there because I think I came at the wrong time. I'm a real food person and the smell of the food did not make me hungry. The facility was very dark and hospital-like, and there was not much room for walking. The walkways were not very long, too. The employees were super happy there, which says a lot. Also, I didn't see any dirt anywhere on anybody, and everything was super clean.
