Absolute horror story from the time we put my mother in-law in Laurelwood Elkton MD. until we finally got her transferred to a different facility. To start we had to spend thousands of dollars for a lawyer to get things straightened out because they kept changing staff and no one knew what the others had done. They kept saying the previous persons didn''t leave any notes. The attorney finally got things somewhat straightened out but not until she said the people, she was dealing with were driving her crazy. My mother in-law had supposedly 2 falls within about 5 days of each other. The hospital called us to let us know she had been brought into the emergency room with a lot of trauma. The emergency room staff member that called said we may want to relocate her because there may be issues with Laurelwood. When we would call to talk to her nurse, they wouldn''t answer questions and referred us to the Director, so what were they hiding, who knows. We got her re-located to another nursing home but over 1/2 of her belongings we took to Laurelwood for her are missing including her glasses. Put your loved one in Laurelwood at your own risk!!!!!!!!!

I was very skeptical of nursing homes for my mother based off a prior bad experience with a different home. However, Laurelwood was awesome! The CNAs were so attentive and detail oriented. They kept me updated and involved with her day to day activities and explained things in a way in which I understood. The staff made a hard decision and situation easier by just simply caring. Thank you!!
Read moreThe staff here was SO friendly and helpful to my dad! They made him feel comfortable and at ease, being in a new place. And a huge thank you to Miss Lorraine, for bringing dad some sherbet because his throat was sore from coughing.

MY EXPERIENCE at this facility will be honest and accurate as I am still here. Unfortunately for me I thought it would be a good idea to get some physical therapy after a fall.Big big mistake coming here First and foremost I saw a doctor upon arrival been here 2 weeks and have yet to see or speak to one again Housekeeping is better at your local fast food restaurant. The toilet has not been cleaned in at least 6 days bed sheets changed 1 time. I am a type 2 diabetic I have had 1 finger stick in 2 weeks wish I had one thing positive about this place and some individual staff members are trying their best I am a lifelong resident of this county and have heard harsh warnings about this place for many years now I know first hand so if you truly care for your loved ones avoid this place and you want to see something done my advice is to get in touch with your the state health department or your local Congressman Andy Harris Thanks for reading
