We toured The Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my mother. We had a fantastic tour! It was very informative. The facility offered all levels of care. The staff was friendly. The carpet was atrocious- very bold colors and pattern that made me feel dizzy just walking down the corridor. It would really bother my mom, as would the long hallways.

The community itself is very beautiful, inside and out and also on their social media pages but it's all for show. In the beginning for move in, you are promised a ton of great amenities but once moved in, that goes out the window. The staff has a high turnover rate I hear because they are underpaid yet unlicensed. Apparently you do NOT have to be certified to work here, not for caregiving and not for medication pass. Very dangerous. They dropped my mother on floor in plain sight of our camera and fractured her foot in two places. No consequences were done to that employee, she still works there day by day. Did I mention how some employees are literally living in the building? I've seen two employees moving their personal belongings in the building. Craziness, and they are still understaffed. The extended care department is the worse when it comes to care and the assisted living department is not so assisting. During tours, the memory care department wreaked of urine and feces.

I had to create a calendar for nurses to sign off, when medications were given because they weren't coming by. Did not respect DNR, some staff were very sweet to my grandma, some were very rude... and were fired. Took twice as long to answer calls to room, we were told 15 minutes at max, I personally waited over 30 minutes multiple times for a nurse to come to the room. I would tell others that if you are planning on using The Landing at Watercrest, it is best to from the start to swap all pharmacy services to theirs. This will save time and headaches later. Same with primary care. Once we did, a lot of things went smoother. It all depends on the care needed, my grandmother wasn't very mobile and needed more care... if someone was in better health and needed less help this wild be a great place. I think they offer a lot of good amenities, but might be understaffed to provide the care they advertise.
Read moreI toured the community and thought that the grounds were well-kept, beautiful, layout design of the apartment was perfect and the staff was extremely friendly. I liked that there’s several different options and levels for care and it’s a beautiful place for my parents to call home!
