The nurses did the best they could given the short staff. My mother at times was left waiting to go to the bathroom for 20 minutes. Cried on the phone to me about it. The doctor dropped the ball on her care. She wound up on oxygen then it dropped to 66 but decided not to send her to the hospital. She swelled up like a balloon. It happened again and they finally sent her. The doctor at the hospital said I don''t understand why they waited so long. The food was disgusting. I could go on but it won''t bring my mother back. My mom suffered and I hope other families don''t have to go through this. I could go on about this place. My advice is to find a different facility!

My dad is currently living here for another month or so. Nobody comes for at least 30min after he presses the button for help to go to the bathroom. My dad just got a hip replacement, so he needs help just to get up. They are not that busy. I go by the nurses station and they''re always there just standing around and talking. If you don''t like your job, don''t do it, save it for the people that will actually care for our loved ones. I went to see my dad around 7pm last night and he was sitting in his poop. He said he pressed the button an hour before and nobody came. His bathroom that he shares with a man with dementia was covered all over with poop and walking around the floor naked from the waist down. Probably because nobody came to take care of him either. Just sad. I feel sad my dad has to be here for this long. NEVER again will he come here. The ONLY reason I gave this 2 stars is the nice woman from the front reception that works on weekends. That''s it.

I can''t say enough good things about Elderwood in Brockport. My mom lived there for 26 months and I can honestly say I didn''t have one concern about her care. The nursing staff, facilities staff as well as the administration was caring, attentive and showed my mother love and patience every single day. They have become family to my husband and myself as well as my mom while she was in their care. Never once did I worry about the care my mom received while she was at Elderwood. We did not have an easy situation for them to handle, yet they never made us feel like a burden. I highly recommend Elderwood in Brockport if you have a parent or spouse who needs long term care.
