Living alone before here was getting problematic. The Woods solved all her needs. The food is great and the activities are plentiful and wonderful. I''d make the same decision again, and I''d recommend this facility to anyone needing Independent or Assisted Living. Handicap parking and access available.

The past holiday season underscored the great sense of community and dedication to all-around excellence that exists at Lake Barrington Woods. There were Christmas activities galore, including a charming caroling session by an area Girl Scout troop. There was an outstanding Christmas Eve dinner, an even more impressive Christmas Day brunch that people are still raving about, and the spirit of the season reverberated throughout the halls. The staff, as always, was super efficient and eager to please, for residents and guests alike. In all, it reinforced our belief that we picked the right place. We truly felt at home for the holidays.

Since Covid there have been a lot of changes, not for the better. The nursing staff has had multiple turnovers of CNAs, caregivers and Director of Nurses, as have the Executive Directors. The nurse staff is subpar, the food is worse. After multiple complaints they do nothing. I would never recommend...
Since Covid there have been a lot of changes, not for the better. The nursing staff has had multiple turnovers of CNAs, caregivers and Director of Nurses, as have the Executive Directors. The nurse staff is subpar, the food is worse. After multiple complaints they do nothing. I would never recommend anyone bring their family here. The flooring is old, filthy, worn out. They put on a good show with renovated rooms for new residents, but how about updating the community and rooms for residents that have been there for years?

Having lived in two other senior buildings in the last five years, my wife and I can attest to the validity of “the third time is the charm” assertion now that we have settled into life at Lake Barrington Woods. Our apartment is spacious yet homey, the food is fantastic and plentiful, and Executive Director Vicki''s staff is helpful beyond belief. (One example: Three days after I mentioned that the furnace fan motor was very noisy, a new one—whisper-quiet—was installed.) Our first week was brightened by resident ambassadors joining us at dinner and explaining LBW’s many perks (activities and services galore, bus trips for shopping and more) and patiently answering our many questions. Lots of smiling faces here, and for good reason. That it is in a very nice setting and close to our two married daughters puts the icing on the cake. Best move we ever made!
