My father-in-law was at Keystone Commons and it was very good. It's clean and the staff was attentive. His room was well cared for. It was very good. Everything was more than adequate. As my father-in-law's abilities to take oral nutrition independently faded or were diminished, the staff was attentive and helpful when he needed assistance on that. Depending on someone's functional abilities, they offer differing activities, whether it's games or things like bingo or music therapy. They offer pet therapy as well.

My mother stayed at Keystone Commons for a couple of months. I like that they didn't let the people lay in bed all day. They got them dressed and involved them in activities. It helped my mother because she had always been in bed and sleeping. It was good to see her with other people. They were very good to the people. They could have done a little bit more with cleaning the rooms, but everything else was very well kept. The staff members were wonderful. Everybody knew all the patients. It was nice to hear them call the patients by name and get them to be a part of everything. Around Easter, they had a big thing for patients and families. They had a lot of food, and the food was out of this world. One of the things that got me was that they did so much with the families and got everybody involved, not just the patients. The one thing that I wasn't really happy about was that my sister would go over and set up medicine for my mother. Sometimes, they weren't administered in the right way, and I was a little upset about that because it was important for my mom to have her medicine done a certain way. But other than that, I would rate them highly. We got good value for her money.

Keystone Commons was very lovely and very clean. Everything was beautiful and well-kept. The staff was very kind, very engaging, considerate, and understanding. All the residents seemed to be in good spirits and doing well. It was Friday. They had their open bar thing, and their bingo was about to happen. The theme of the month in August was lemons, so everything had a lemon theme.

I went to Keystone Commons. I visited the memory care and the intermediate care. I liked the cleanliness, the size of the rooms, and the activities they had going on and available for them. It was clean, tidy, and well cared for. Everybody there was very friendly. They greeted everybody, they smiled, and the residents seemed happy. They were in the middle of laying out lunch for their residents, so they were kind of busy. They offered me water, which is great. I saw different activities going on, and then they gave me a handout with the list of their monthly activities. They had a lot of stuff going on. The rooms were clean and spacious. They weren't like your own home, but they were spacious for being an assisted living. There was no smell of any kind, which was nice. I didn't interact with the staff. The business manager was the one who gave me the tour, and she was excellent. The only other thing that I thought was nice there was that people had access to the outside. Even the locked-down units had access to the outside, which was nice. Intermediate care is assisted living, but it's still a locked-down unit. They're for people who haven't lost their memory yet, but they can't be left on their own, so they need a little bit more supervision and security.

Keystone Commons was a larger community, and it was clean. I think it would be something I would consider, but I really like the one that's locally here; that way my friend's stepfather, who's 95, and her brother could see her. I was guided around by the administrator. He was very, very knowledgeable and pleasant. I went to see assisted living, and they also showed me memory care and independent living.
