When we needed a new facility for my husband''s parents, we used Cindy Williams of Simply Seniors Services of Charleston to assist us in the right placement and she recommended we tour Kempton of Charleston. Kempton of Charleston has been the best fit for my in-laws and our family. We rest easy knowing they are receiving excellent care. Because this is not a large facility, Kempton feels more like a family and we have been able to build strong relationships with nurses and other staff key members. We love seeing the events and pictures of staff and residents on social media. The facility is really beautiful and we love to reserve the private dining room so my mother-in-law feels like she is able to be a host. The location is great and it is bright and cheery. The staff always positive and are very welcoming. We appreciate the leadership of the wonderful Executive Director Lindsey French and the fantastic support from Lisa McLeod through this process. I highly recommend Kempton of Charleston.

By far the most wonderful place you could imagine to assist in the care of your loved ones. You can tell the moment you walk in the door of Kempton of Charleston that it is someplace special. The staff is top notch as evidenced by the smile on the face of every person working there. It isn''t just a job to these people, it is part of their life. Kempton exemplifies the level of care that should be given to our loved ones. Each is treated with dignity, respect and love. We moved my mother to memory care after a less than positive experience elsewhere. To say that Kempton made up for all of the shortcomings we had known in another facility and then some in an understatement. The facility itself is immaculate and well maintained. Even the smallest maintenance requests are handled promptly and correctly the first time. Without exception the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Questions are answered quickly and completely. There is no passing the buck or lack of accountability - only total professionalism. Each day my mother was dressed and put together beautifully - something that was incredibly important to her. The staff went out of their way to assist us when we wanted to video chat and connect with her. If she wasn''t hungry, they went and made her favorite sandwich to encourage her to eat. Without exception everyone she came in contact with took the time to get to know her, to stop and share a connection with her, and to ensure that she was comfortable and happy. Activities were always available and they worked to keep her engaged in something. There was always staff present with her or close by - there was no using TV as a babysitter. They even helped us plan a large family get together for my mothers birthday. The staff really gets to know the residents and pays attention. A small change in mood signaled the start of a problem that was caught and treated early. This is the kind of attentiveness that made such a huge difference in my mothers quality of life. When my mother required skilled nursing it was no surprise that the care was just as exceptional as memory care. At the end of her life, it was Kempton staff that helped us with difficult decisions and getting us the right resources so we could honor all of my mothers wishes. There wasn''t a moment that we didn''t feel just as nurtured as my mother including countless visits from staff from every department. There is a level of compassion at Kempton that is an example of what every senior living and memory care facility should aspire to.
