My grandfather has only been admitted for a couple days, but I moved him from another facility and thus far the quality of care, services available, and communication has been far and above anything I''ve experienced in the years since he''s been in personal care.

Staff seem miserable, food terrible, and the care let''s just say it doesn''t seem like there is any ....it''s depressing and so sad. My family doesn''t have any communication or very little but the little we have with the administrator has been respectful she just seems really busy. The care aides need to smile a little and stop complaining we have heard them alot in the halls. We wish them luck.

Thanks for your help and kindness. We are very appreciative of you facilitating this process. It took so much stress off the caregiver''s mind and she is actually getting rest for the first time in years. She was even able to get a haircut. The simple things that she couldn''t do when she was taking care of him 24/7. This is a huge step for both of their mental and physical health. I think my dad will also benefit a lot by being able to socialize more and move around the memory care unit. I would recommend this location to anyone.

This is the second facility my mother has been in and we really expected more when we moved her but I think they tell you what you want to hear just to get you into the place. The cost was over $2,000 higher and we had the same issues. Slow or no response to pendant, not taking to the bathroom regularly, skipping showers on a regular basis (10 days with no shower). The worst part was leaving her sitting around in a soaked Depends to the point where her clothes and chair also got wet. When you're paying over $7,000 per month you expect to get decent basic care as far as toileting and showers but you don't even get that.

Quality of care - I believe Mom is being very well-cared for, but I would like a little more information to be shared with me about her care without having to email/call and ask follow up questions. Meals - Mom is a VERY picky eater, and yet the most negative thing she has said was "oh, I didn't like their main dish last night so I got a hamburger." Not unhappy, not expecting they cater to her, just commenting. I consider that high praise, not to mention that sometimes she's ebullient about her delicious meal! Value for cost - Juniper is pricey. Price was not our first issue, but all the other factors were. So we agreed to the price. Juniper is SO nice that we toured there first and signed up without touring anywhere else. My internet "tours" and research had put Juniper way ahead, which is why we went there first. Mom worries about being able to afford it (family are able to fill any gaps that do occur), and she still wishes she could be independent, but she never suggests she would be better off anywhere else (even in her own home!). So my rating here is a combination of "more expensive than some nearby, albeit not as nice" places" and "I would like more insight into Mom's day to day care" (I do not live in Pittsburgh). this is the right place for my Mom!
