When I accepted a new job as Staff Development Coordinator, I was very nervous about transitioning from a hospital setting to a long-term care facility. All the staff has made me feel comfortable and has helped me any time I needed. The staff members truly care about their residents. Assisting them each with an individualized plan of care that best suits them to live their highest quality of life. Now, for one of the big questions and reasons most people probably read reviews... Would I send one of my loved ones to this facility? Absolutely! Prior to even working at this facility, my father was once a resident utilizing our skilled therapy services after a stroke decreased his mobility and strength. After completing his program, he was able to regain enough strength to go home. I do recommend our facility for employment, as well as our services we provide to our residents.

Harbor Healthcare has taken such great care of my aunt. She loves the staff, the care, and the daily social activities.

I am an ex employee. Do not ever work for this company, They’re horrible! They do not treat their employees fairly. Different rules apply to different employees. They threaten your paycheck every time you turn around they make new rules every time you turn around, They expect you to work a full Without proper brakes. Residents are not taken care of properly. Here they go for hours without proper care. They are left for hours in dirty briefs. They will not keep employees they want ones who don’t show up for work and do their job poorly, They want people who don’t report abuse or neglect, They try to sleep everything under the rug, This is a good place to lose your nursing license and your SNA license. I have tried to work for this company twice, If they don’t Like you or don’t like something about You will be fired. If you report abuse or neglect you will be fired. They do not want the paperwork or extra work of you doing your job, The resident suffer tremendously here, People that can’t feed their selves without eating properly or getting drinks of water. It’s because they hire horrible employees. Keep your loved ones away from this facility and do not ever work for this company. The DON and the scheduler are best friends and if they don’t like you, you will not get any hours or bonuses. They treat dayshift like they are queens and not shift like they are trash

I try my best to overlook the little flaws in healthcare facilities. This one I can’t over look anymore and I want to warn everyone. Please do not put any family in Harbor Health care of Ironton. My mother was in for about a month and according to their own admission on the state report, they did not properly care for her. This led to the amputation of two of her toes. Please stay away from this place. The one star is being far too generous.
