Extremely displeased with care and staff ethics. (Family member of a patient) Jamestowne staff will say (over the phone) that they will go help your relative who has requested help finding their necessary neck brace, and then never show up to help them even though they are aware your relative cannot stand to search for their own neck brace. They (Jamestowne staff) will say they are “waiting on lab results” to decide if your relative needs care when labs were never even done, delaying care by 24+ hours. When your relative’s phone isn’t working (their only connection to the outside world), Jamestowne staff will say they will go fix it and then not go fix it for over 24 hours while your relative is unable to reach any family (or even call 911 for themselves.) Jamestowne staff will leave your relative in a diaper without the option of having is changed all night despite your relative asking for help changing it, and our relative now has sores from sitting in wetness. After having a relative there, I can say it feels Jamestowne staff is taking advantage of that fact that relatives cannot visit daily to advocate for their family member’s care! (Each resident is only allowed two total visits per week for 30 minutes) They have lied on the phone many times, and my relative is steadily decreasing in ability. We know soon Jamestowne will say “there is no rehab we can do for him as he is too weak” and recommend we send him to assisted living permanently despite that he was able to walk only a month ago and simply lost strength due to being sick temporarily. Also, the food at Jamestowne is terrible and my relative continues to lack energy due to not eating their terrible food. How can you expect someone who is sick to recover their strength when they are only eating 500 calories or less a day! We are hoping and praying our relative survives his stay at Jamestown Rehab and can overcome the deterioration in strength they have caused.

If I could rate it lower I would. The therapists are great but the rest of the staff is below par. I emailed their parent company with no response. The sign that shows a 5 star rating that is hanging outside is a joke. My mother died shortly after leaving there and the number 2 reason was failure to thrive. This is because we could not visit except through the window and over the phone at that. The staff from the DON down need to be reviewed and get rid of the worst ones. There are a few good ones but most are worthless. Don''t take anyone there for rehab. They will not be treated well except for the therapists. Call buttons do not work half the time.

I was at Jamestowne for two weeks in July 2021. I was hospitalized at Fort Hamilton because of my heart and after being discharged I chose Jamestowne for rehab. I didn’t know much about Jamestowne beside that my son recommended them. Well I wasn’t happy there during my stay in July. I didn’t like the food, the response time was long, and I was ready to go home. Well in February this year I ended up back in the hospital because of my heart again. Well after discharge I decided to go home. After 5 hours at being home I had to call a life squad to come get me. I ended up back at UC hospital. My blood count was down to 5.5 UC hospital recommend me to go to Skilled Nursing after being discharged. Although I had known other facilities I chose Jamestowne again and I am glad I did. Tasha, Doug, Jake, Dillion provided excellent and professional care. I really liked Doug he worked with me and helped me so much. In fact Doug will always have a special place in my heart. Megan is also good with making sure you have everything set up at discharge. Well you know what the whole staff has been good this time around. There response time, care, and food was much better this time around. If you need Rehab and nursing care choose Jamestowne.

My sister was a resident at Jamestown, 2 different times. This was the only rehabilitation center that she didn''t sign herself out of. In the middle of the pandemic when she couldn''t get no visitors she would tell me how it wasn''t home but it''s nice! the nurses and nurses aids would Make her feel comfortable, the nurses are not just there to administer her meds they interacted with her, they would sit and have conversations with her.and joke with her. My sister has since passed away, but I would like to say thank you! to the nurses and the aids that made her stay there so comfortable. At least she was at peace while she was there.
