Nature escapes, like Augustin Bernal Park and Emerald Glen Park Community Rose Garden, are nearby, and cultural centers, like Museum on Main and the Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre, are everyday outings for residents.
Inside Sunrise of Pleasanton, residents enjoy manicured courtyards, game rooms, a theater for movie nights and a vigorous activities schedule for the mind, body and soul. Exercise classes, music enrichment, book clubs, art instruction and more keep seniors physically healthy and mentally engaged.
Fresh meals are prepared and offered up in the bright, airy Sunrise of Pleasanton Dining Room and residents can always grab coffees, teas and snacks in the Bistro. Menus are diverse here, with old favorites like soft tacos and oven-fried chicken served alongside local grilled salmon and homemade ice cream in all sorts of flavors. Chefs prepare meals to meet unique needs, with pureed, vegetarian, low-sodium and no-sugar options available.

The Sunrise of Pleasanton was beautiful. The facility was very clean. The staff-to-resident ratio was very good. The residents appeared to be happy. Everybody looked healthy and well-kept. We didn't get a chance to sample any meals there, but they were very impressive. My daughter and I both went to look at it, and we thought it was really expensive. But now we realize that you get what you pay for.

The first couple weeks were a honeymoon period, then it was awful. She only got one shower the whole time she was here. She had scabs all over her knees. She did not feel good and I called 911 and they did not want me to call. She had over a 100 degree temperature when the EMTs got there. It turned out that she had sepsis and she passed away and they had no idea and no one ever communicated with me. There were a few good staff members, but a lot of staff were just sitting around. Whenever I would call with any issues they were dismissed. It was a really bad experience. I would not recommend this facility for memory care at all.

Sunrise of Pleasanton really does have that community feel to it, all of the residents and staff members were very friendly. Our loved one has begun to make new friends which is great. She does not participate in the activities at the moment but from what we can see they have plenty of different things. Based on our experience experience so far we would definitely recommend them to other families.

This was a good experience for us. Everyone was very helpful and they tried to be informative as possible. We took a couple of tours prior to deciding on this community. The staff were good to work with, and they are great at answering questions or addressing our concerns. The majority of the staff seem to show that this is their calling. The food seems to be very repetitive. There isn't a lot of taste to it, and there is not much appeal to it either. They are short staffed on the wait staff. The laundry, housekeeping, changing of linens, transportation is available within 10 miles, three meals a day, and the room are included in the monthly price. The community will take care of medication management, bathing, dressing, and hygiene assistance if the resident needs it and there is an additional charge for these items. There are levels of care that they will provide and this is how the pricing is calculated. The time the call button is pressed the staff are here immediately to assist the residents. There is nursing care available 24 hours a day.
